Traffic Safety (non-emergency)Acknowledged585 9th St Oakland CA 94607, United States - EBALDC
Speed bumps (many) very greatly required on 10th St. and others between Broadway and Martin Luther King Jr. Way.
I'll tell you where speed bumps are needed alright, and you should very much consider this the truth, coming from a someone who has witnessed every single night and much during the day, outrageously fast speeding hot rods, motorcycles, even just regular cars and regular sports cars, all speeding recklessly through 10th, 9th, 8th, Clay St., Jefferson St., 65 - 90 mph, engines roaring, like a scene from Mad Max. Your Police do not do anything to stop them, I have called 20 times about these wreckless drivers over the years, and they are the same drivers.
The speeders will slam on their gas pedal after turning onto 10th from Broadway, or turning left from Washington St., speeding all the way on Clay St. from 5th St. to 11th St., or turning onto 10th and flying down 10th either all the way down to Castro St., or they turn right onto Jefferson St.
All day, there are massive pickup trucks, delivery trucks, vans, sedans, coupes, any brand, any make, and they fly, constantly on 10th St., past this poor complex at 555 10th St., people who live in the complex at 901 Jefferson St., all the houses down the road on the left and right, businesses, and we all hear this disturbingly loud racket that is literally out of the Mad Max movie, literally, post apocalyptic race wars kind of sounds every single night, at 9 pm, 8 pm, 10, 11 12, 1 am, 2 am, 3 am, 4 am. 1:30 am. 12:30 am. Any day of the week.
It's a very seriously bad problem, and speed bumps are greatly required, all the way around these blocks, stretching the entire width of these roads.
You also need "Keep valuables out of sight" signs at every single lamp post, because every Friday and Saturday night, every night actually, there is a kid in a black hoodie scoping out every car with a flashlight, calls up his crew on the phone, and around comes his friends car to jump out smash the car windows and grab what he found. Serious problem. I had to call the police 3 times last night just for that alone. Guys luggage got stolen out of the back window of his rental SUV, white Jeep got smashed into rear right window facing the street, and a sedan got its rear left window smashed in facing the sidewalk. All within the same hour.
These issues need to be dealt with, fast.
