  • 94 Sleeping Giant Dr Hamden, CT, 06518, USA - test hamden SL

Sidewalk in front of 94 Sleeping Giant Drive is still totally impassable due to over a foot of snow from 1/25 storm that has not been removed as mandated per Town of Hamden Ordinances. It is dangerous to not clear this sidewalk, and needs to be rectified immediately.

"§96.26 of the Town of Hamden’s Ordinance for Snow and Ice Removal, requires that snow and ice be removed from sidewalks by the person responsible for the premises within twenty-four (24) hours after the cessation of any precipitation. If you are unable to remove snow, ice or sleet after a reasonable effort, you must spread an abrasive substance on the sidewalk to ensure that it is safe for pedestrian travel."

"Please be further advised that in the unfortunate event that you fail to do so, under the terms of §96.29 of the Snow and Ice Removal Ordinance, effective twenty-four (24) hours after the precipitation ends, you may be issued a citation and be subject to a fine of up to one hundred dollars ($100.00) per day."

285-291 Blake Circle Hamden, Connecticut - Hamden
Between 285 and 291 Blake Circle is a low area which I believe is for drainage. There is a large black plastic tarp over it now. How will the water drain and won't mosquitos breed in the resulting puddles? Note: there already are areas of water sitting on the tarp.

6 Leatherman Trl Hamden 06518, United States - Hamden
Storm drain at intersection of Leatherman and Fans Rock should be moved as water never runs in it but around it. Been like this the 13 years we’ve lived here. Creates a huge patch of ice every winter. Cars & buses slide in or out of Leatherman Trail. Often Dangerous. Need to sand regularly or better yet, move storm drain to catch flow of water.
  • 120 Lincoln St Hamden, CT, 06518, USA - Hamden_Feature 001
There are no curbs and no drainage on Lincoln, Maher, and Harding. The sidewalks are an uneven hazard on a clear day, impossible to navigate in the rain. And, there’s no way to walk along the side of the road because it is a river as a result of no drainage and no curbs.
  • 155 Hampshire Dr Hamden, CT 06518, USA - test hamden SL

I am writing to you because my wife and I are elderly and we are having a flooding problem in our garage and basement due to the recent torrential rains on June 22 and 23. We have already lost stored items (essential items) because our driveway was built on a slope and we are receiving all the rainwater from the entire street because there is no stormwater sewer catch basin in front of our house that can drain all the water from the street during rain storms. These trees that you see in the photo produce a lot of leaves during the fall and when there are torrential rains my basement floods because there is no storm water sewer catch basin on the street next to my driveway. Other home owners have those catch basins next to their driveways. Can you help?

    Sincerely,
