  • 319-555 Columbus St Hamden, CT, 06517, USA - Hamden
This is supposed to be a sidewalk it is so overgrown I have to walk in the street when I walk by everyday. Someone could get hit by a car.
  • 626 Newhall St Hamden, CT, 06517, USA - Hamden

6 Leatherman Trl Hamden 06518, United States - Hamden
Storm drain at intersection of Leatherman and Fans Rock should be moved as water never runs in it but around it. Been like this the 13 years we’ve lived here. Creates a huge patch of ice every winter. Cars & buses slide in or out of Leatherman Trail. Often Dangerous. Need to sand regularly or better yet, move storm drain to catch flow of water.

285-291 Blake Circle Hamden, Connecticut - Hamden
Between 285 and 291 Blake Circle is a low area which I believe is for drainage. There is a large black plastic tarp over it now. How will the water drain and won't mosquitos breed in the resulting puddles? Note: there already are areas of water sitting on the tarp.
  • 120 Lincoln St Hamden, CT, 06518, USA - Hamden_Feature 001
There are no curbs and no drainage on Lincoln, Maher, and Harding. The sidewalks are an uneven hazard on a clear day, impossible to navigate in the rain. And, there’s no way to walk along the side of the road because it is a river as a result of no drainage and no curbs.

    1013 Dixwell Ave Rear Hamden 06514, États-Unis - Hamden
Because of the hills of debris on the other side of the fence here, the canal trail gets flooded whenever there’s a substantial rain. No place for the rain to drain to.

110 Harrison Dr Hamden, CT, 06514, USA - Hamden
Culvert on Harrison across from house #77 is totally clogged. It needs to be cleaned out and inspected for the cracks in the pipeline. It is flooding everyone's back yards all the way down to Eleanor St. Several neighbors have also committed, to date it's still not looked at. I started in March!!

255 Ridgewood Ave Hamden, Connecticut, 06517 - Spring Glen
The stream that runs between our road (Ridgewood Avenue) and the road parallel (Brookside Drive) has become increasingly flashy over the last two years. Large rainfall events lead it to break its banks, flooding the lower part of our back yard (and multiple others' yards). The repeated events are pushing the groundwater higher, meaning our sump pump is running more and risking the chances of basement flooding. Walking the stream it is clear that the culverts under Santa Fe and Churchill Rd through which the stream passes are too narrow - when the rains come they cannot handle the flow. Upstream, the pond at High Lane is silting up, meaning that it has less capacity. It is now common to the see groundwater bubbling up in multiple locations uphill from us. And on our part of Ridgewood, Brookside and Churchill, there are storm drains that are permanently backed up, leading to large pooling even when the rains have passed over and the flow in the stream has dropped again. The fix seems to demand that Hamden work with RWA to address these issues - drainage has become increasingly poor and the Town has not taken action despite the fact the issue appears years in the making. Please take action.

I am writing to you because my wife and I are elderly and we are having a flooding problem in our garage and basement due to the recent torrential rains on June 22 and 23. We have already lost stored items (essential items) because our driveway was built on a slope and we are receiving all the rainwater from the entire street because there is no stormwater sewer catch basin in front of our house that can drain all the water from the street during rain storms. These trees that you see in the photo produce a lot of leaves during the fall and when there are torrential rains my basement floods because there is no storm water sewer catch basin on the street next to my driveway. Other home owners have those catch basins next to their driveways. Can you help?

    Sincerely,

    Ricardo Dominguez

  • 41 Brookside Dr Hamden, Connecticut, 06517 - Spring Glen
My property floods every time there is a heavy rain. It is rare that the brook overflows, but the drainage from the rest of the neighborhood above me comes down the hill into my property and floods everything.

889-915 Benham St Hamden, Connecticut - Hamden
Water over Benham St. continuously. Public work came out to clear roadside culvert couple week ago. Thanksgiving ice was 20'- 30' long across entire road. Several time cars were heard sliding. This problem is on going for several years and really needs to be addressed once and for all. Thank you, Ray Wetmore
