Recycling & Solid Waste PLUS

The recycling was not picked up on our side of the street on Monday.

This is the second week all my trash has not been removed it makes it very hard to place trash into the bin when trash is left behind

Trash was not picked up at 215 and 211 Stanley Road. All other homes had trash picked up except us

Trash and recycling bins are left by the curb side street even on days there's no trash pickup.

Recycling was not collected today, 5/24/22 on Laurel Rd depite this being the correct day. All surrounding streets had their bins emptied.

When emptying the trash can our recycling can was knocked over. No one picked it up after this happened and then it was not emptied when the recycling truck came around. The can was very well packed and was not blown over. It is terrible that there is not one once in decency from the person who knocked it over and the other who just drove by. Now it's two weeks until it is emptied.

I have been recycling my food compost for 2 years now. It used to take me at tops 10 minutes in and out of the transfer station. This last time it took over half an hour just to get in and out. What a joke! A complete boondoggle. The in and out process needs improvement. I am currently suspending my food composting till the town starts house to house pick up.

Regarding dump employees:
They are rude.
They need to be taught how to talk to the residents of Hamden.

Hello. The bulk trash pick up skipped two houses on Misty Meadow Lane; the small piles are still there despite having been put out in mid-October. We hope the town can pick them up soon. Thank you!

This student house consistently leaves their garbage bins on the street overflowing and dispersing trash on our nice clean street. The past few weeks they have been dumping bags of trash, mostly open on the street, days, almost a week before trash pick up. This pic is from today (5/18) and that garbage will sit there for a week if not longer, as it is not in the bin as Hamden's ordinances require and most likely will just be left there. The trash is often overrun with animals at night, racoons and crows, further dispersing their trash all over the road and into neighboring lkong time Hamden property owners. These Absentee landlords should make their tenants aware of the Hamden trash laws and actually hold their student tenants accountable to the neighborhoods they are temporarily residing in.
