Todd St Hamden, Connecticut, 06518 - HamdenI am posting again about the deplorable road conditions from the beginning of Todd street thru Gaylord Mountain Road. I will acknowledge a recent effort to fill some of the deeper potholes but as in years past, this is just a temporary stopgap measure. this stretch of road is beyond patching as a permanent solution. you have patched the patches until there is very little original pavement left. the roads are narrow, not properly striped in some cases ( center lines are faded or non existent). There are no lines on the sides of the road for the most part, just dangerous holes and trenches and overgrown growth and downed branches and ponding due to poor drainage. it is necessary to menton this conditions because they create hazardous driving conditions especially at night or when it is raining. if you have to swerve to avoid hitting a large pothole or any other reason , your choices are the aforementioned shoulder or the center line, both of which can have have dangerous results.this is a highly traveled route from Whitney Avenue to get to Route 69 in Bethany. Isnt it time to do the right thing for your residents and the many travelers that use this route daily and stop patching and replace the entire road or at least the sections most needing repairs like you did on the section of Shepard avenue that crosses Todd and West Todd street>>

Sanford St & Shepard Ave Hamden, Connecticut, 06514 - Hamden_Feature 001
There -was- a painted crosswalk here at one point, but now, the only person who will likely see this paint is the person trying to cross the road.
I would love to see the driver of a car today stop here and wave through their windshield because they know the pedestrian has the right-of-way here. Especially if they point down in front of them and silently mouth "No! That's a crosswalk! YOU'RE a pedestrian. YOU go ahead! 😁☺️." I'd laugh my way across the intersection.
Crosswalks are also visual signals for vehicular drivers to yield to the person on foot, since many licensed drivers seemed to have become ignorant enough. This intersection has no safe way for a pedestrian to cross.
