On the town owned property( formerly the Maselli farm). Carpenter ants are eating trees and branches and they are falling. Also appears to be quite a few large dead branches and possibly trees that if they fall in the roadway will take out power lines.

A rather large branch has fallen near the sidewalk that runs parallel with Washington Avenue in front of The Commons. The branch leans towards the sidewalk and is supported by a nearby tree. Safety hazard.

Still needs to come down. Branches entangled in wires. UI says it is Hamden tree warden problem. Not theirs. Get it fixed

This is the third time I have submitted a concern regarding the unhealthy trees in my front yard. Like I mentioned in August every time it rains or there is heavy winds several large branches fall from the trees. A few times onto the cars. I’ve asked for someone to come look at the 3 trees to access if they are healthy. I am afraid one day soon they will fall onto my or someone else’s property.
As stated before this is the third time submitting a concern. Hopefully this time something will be done before a lot unfortunate damage is done and I’m held responsible.

The sidewalks along benham and mix axe are so overgrown with weeds and trees that you cannot walk safely down the sidewalk. There is also a section of sidewalk missing on mix ave between Benham and Promenade drive. People are forced to walk in the road to avoid all the overgrown weeds and not step in the flooded mud area where the sidewalk is missing.

I called, in December I believe, but perhaps earlier, to say that our arborist (licensed) had told us that the tree directly in front of our house on the city right of way was splitting, and in danger of falling over, and that the town needed to remove it. There is a danger that it might fall and hurt or kill someone. As I say, I called, and spoke to someone who said that the office would be in touch. But that was half a year ago, at least, and no one has been here, as far as I can tell, to see for themselves, and no one has been in touch. Our phone is 203 407-0663. I am not eager to have the tree come down, and would be happy to learn that it is safe as it is, but really, it shouldn't be neglected. --Shelly Kagan

There is a tree in front of my house (105 Spring Garden) that has been very concerning for awhile. We contacted the power company about removing it and were directed to you because it is on town property. It is right next to a utility pole and appears to be touching power lines. It has also caused a great deal of damage to the sidewalk. The tree in question is between 105 and 97 Spring Garden. Thanks for your help!

Tree hazard with potential for falling limbs. Tree is half dead and should be removed.
