2713-2731 Dixwell Ave Town of Hamden, CT, 06518, USA - Hamden_Feature 001Please let me start with a “Thank you” to our town officials and the Parks Recreation and Public Works Personnel for the upkeep of our town parks, that we are so proud of!
Since I reside in the Meadowbrook Co-op, we consider Town Center Park as our backyard! Over the last few months, we have been walking our puppy around and through the park. Unfortunately with the lack of cleaning up after their dogs, the park now is showing the effect of dog owners, not doing their part! Many individuals are either unaware or just don’t care and the park has become a mind field of hazards, which will also be more of a concern after the winter season!
Would it be possible to send out a press release or place signage at the park to help reinforce the town ordinance, relating to this growing problem. A posting and Clean-up Station(s) with bags, (similar to Brooksvale) would be most appreciated!
1. It shall be unlawful for any person to allow or permit any dog to defecate upon any sidewalk, public street, median divider within public streets, grass or paved strips between streets and sidewalks, public parks and other public property, unless such person shall remove all feces so deposited by such animal immediately before leaving the area of the defecation.
Again, thank you to our town officials and personnel for the fine job of maintaining our local parks. I would be more than happy to share any other needed information to minimize the lack of consideration and help with having better compliance, relating to this issue.
Respectfully,
R. Freeman -

125 Brook St Hamden CT 06514, United States - HamdenThe Hamden Soccer Association uses various town parks for weekly practices and games More often than not the grass hasn't been mowed and line striping is almost nonexistent Today at Pine Rock Park, the grass was comically long and certainly not conducive to playing soccer The town needs to step it up and make sure these fields are in some semblance of shape for use by residents and the various town sport associations The kids certainly deserve better conditions ,

374 Treadwell St Hamden, CT, 06514, USA - HamdenA police bike patrol consisting of approx 10 officers if not more almost crashed into me as I was walking on the canal. I was heading north into the underpass and not immediately visible to them since I was walking all the way to the right. But the entire patrol was taking up the width of the whole canal! As soon as one officer saw me, he yelled "pedestrian!" to warn the others. One of them didn't even notice me or yell "pedestrian" until they had already gotten close to or passed me. They all moved over as if they saw me at the last chance. Do they need to span the entire walking width of the pavement especially around hard-to-see corners?
