I am at resident of the Willow Trace community adjacent to Hunter St., Baptist Church. I also use a wheelchair for mobility. My children and I often take walks across the Hunter Street parking lot over to Emery Drive where we cross Stadium Trace Parkway so that we can access the shops at Stadium Trace Village. There is no curb cut or pedestrian crossing request button at this intersection. As a result, I have to cross when a car enters the turn lane and the signal changes. Once I am on the other side of the intersection I have to climb the hill out in the street instead of being able to access the sidewalk. All of the sidewalks at the top of the hill have the appropriate ADA curb cuts, but the curb at the intersection of Emery Drive and Stadium Trace Parkway does not. I used to drive independently and I am trying to recover my ability to do so, but accessing the shops a Stadium Trace Village provides an outlet for me and for my children. With Village Green coming online in 2022 I think you will have even more foot traffic from the Trace Crossings community attempting to climb that hill. Please consider and make it a priority to make this intersection safe and accessible. Interestingly, the next major intersection has a curb cut and a pedestrian crossing request button. Ideally, a sidewalk would connect these two intersections as well. Thank you for making Hoover a wonderful place to live. I would love to speak with someone about other accessibility issues in the area. Sincerely, Jack Lavallet
  • 300-338 Park Ave Hoover, AL, 35226, USA - Hoover
Ever since the owner put a driveway to Park Ave. the gravel has been washing onto the sidewalk. Since they clear-cut the lot it has been washing worse.
  • 2305 Laurel Ln Hoover, AL, 35216, USA - Hoover
I am requesting speed hump for Laurel Lane. We are a dead end street and have problems with people driving too fast. We have children, parents and senior citizens walking and strolling babies that are in danger of being hit by speeding residents. What has been done at the dog park at Loch haven would help.
  • 2322 Old Rocky Ridge Rd Hoover AL 35216, United States - Hoover
The blind curve at 2330 Old Rocky Ridge has been the site of 2 accidents requiring EMS and a 4 year old child was almost hit recently when he chased a toy into the road at the blind curve at 2322. Luckily the approaching car had an automatic braking program. But it’s only a matter of time before the next accident/injury happens. I request a blind curve sign and possibly some speed check bumps or an electronic speed check sign as folks go much faster than the speed limit on the curve starting at Spearman Dr. I realize this will be a collaborative effort between Hoover/Jeff Co/ Vestavia Hills - this dangerous situation has been reported to all 3 entities.

  • 2248 Bluff Rd Hoover, AL, 35226, USA - Hoover
Clearview between Bluff Road and Savoy was re-paved, and they didn't fix any of the previous problems. The middle of the road is not higher than the edges, so water is still flowing across the road as it was before the re-paving. They didn't pave up high enough on the edge, so the water still doesn't stay in the poorly made gutters. We get a lot of water flow being the bottom of Bluff Road, and it would be great if the gutter system worked properly. Fixing this problem would prevent the flooding of my neighbours garage, make the road last longer, prevent people from driving thru inches of water, and would reduce noise pollution as it is very noisy when the cars drive thru the water.
I have two suggestions 1) Grind out a bit of the poorly built and wrongly angled gutter so the water actually stays in the gutter
    2) And/Or get a bit more road edge on the side of the gutter to help encourage the water stay in the poorly built gutter.
  • Exit 254 Birmingham, AL, 35226, USA - Hoover
Exit 254 is incredibly dangerous and a unique for those exiting the interstate and trying to turn onto Sumpter Street. Anyone trying to make the turn has to almost come to a complete stop and look over their shoulder 170 degrees to confirm there is not a car coming down Alford Avenue to cross an entire lane to get into the left turning lane. This is very dangerous and unique for people not familiar with the intersection. There is no indication or reason for the second car to expect the person in front of them to come to a complete stop (occurs when there is oncoming traffic traveling W on Alford) coming off of the interstate. We have had several close calls at this intersection and today my pregnant wife traveling with our 2 year old was just hit from behind by a teenage driver. She had to yield to oncoming traffic before it was safe to cross into the left lane, and I assume the driver was not expecting her to stop. This intersection should be totally redesigned to help people anticipate a car could come to a stop in front of them. This intersection is dangerous and can be safer by forcing everyone coming off of the exit ramp to stop. This exit is never backed up so causing everyone to come to a stop should not affect traffic on the interstate
