Park visitor reported an abandoned vehicle in the parking area for Port Gamble, on the east side of HWY 104, before you reach the RC Field; there's another parking area across the highway from it. The vehicle has not moved in over 3 days, and is a dark red/maroon Toyota Prius. There are blinds up in the windows, so it is unknown if there is anyone living in it, or if the vehicle has just been abandoned.

Subpar Road Patch Workam writing to express my concern and disappointment regarding the recent patchwork done on [by a contractor speGlenwood rd rtunately, the quality of the repair falls significantly short of expectations and raises serious safety concerns for the community.

The patchwork is uneven and hazardous to drive over, especially during the winter months when road conditions are already challenging. To compound the issue, there are insufficient warning signs or markers to alert drivers to the danger posed by this substandard repair. This poses a significant risk to vehicles and drivers alike.

What makes this situation even more frustrating is the fact that the County Road Department recently completed a patch just down the road, and it is done to a very high standard. It proves that quality work is achievable and raises the question of why this same care was not applied to the section in question.

It is troubling that everyone in the area will have no choice but to drive over this poorly repaired section throughout the entire winter. The long-term exposure to these conditions may lead to accidents and or damage to property urge your department to take immediate action to address this issue. A proper assessment and repair should be conducted promptly, and adequate warning signs should be put in place to mitigate the danger until a permanent solution is implemented.

Th Surely it is someone's job to make sure that these repairs, albeit temporary, are done to a standard that is safe for those utilizing this busy and high speed road, and this person has not performed ank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to seeing swift improvements.

Reporting graffiti that says "FU" at the back of the temporary construction sign on tripod. It has been there for 3 weeks now. This is on Silverdale Way and Linder. The construction crew and flaggers are there everyday and they see it and do not do anything about it. Kids that go to the soccer field see it. It was up during the whaling days too.

The road William Heights is being used as a lay down area for the Glenwood project and has been ruined where the heavy equipment has been parking. The area has had gravel layed down, but as we all know, just laying gravel is just a temporary cover that will soon wash away, and the new ruts and potholes will soon return with the rains. the road needs to be graded and rolled.

She is reporting that the PW crew working at the area damaged her mailbox, it is destroyed and the mail carrier cannot open it. It happened 1 week ago and the mail carrier is no longer delivering her mails and she had to pick them up at the post office. But she is senior, blind and cannot drive. She was told her mailbox has to be repaired or they will no longer deliver or hold her mails. Onsite PW crew told her a week ago (she did not get the name) that they will replace it but it has not happen. She would like to know when this will be replaced.

She lives in senior housing in old town Silverdale, she uses scooter to go to Safeway in Bucklin Hill but the yellow paints on crosswalks need to be repainted since it is hard for seniors to see the paint and the crosswalk button across the street from the Taco Bell drive thru is unreachable for someone that is on wheelchair. It is too far, a handicapped will be forced to get up and the concrete around the post is not leveled and is unsafe.

4300 Sw Lake Helena Rd Port Orchard WA 98367, United States - Kitsap County
SW Lk Helena has a number of Road Closed signs and barriers to traffic installed due to ongoing culvert work at the SW Lk Helena/Wicks Lake Rd intersection One lane on SW Lk Helena has a large gravel pile The other lane has been used by the contractor to accommodate their work vehicles Typically within an hour after the work crews leave the barricades are moved and traffic continues to move through the worksite The picture was taken Saturday morning and as I write this at 6+ vehicles have drove into and through the work area The contractor doesn't seem to care and there has been no enforcement by the County It looks like the movement of barricades is condoned and supported by contractors & county Admittedly when the large hole is dug it will slow down the movement of vehicles
My concern is having a one lane road unregulated on a road whose average speed of traffic is well above the 45mph limit and soft shoulders due to installation of water piping Is the County liable for any accidents in the area?

In the vicinity of 12340 Seabeck HWY, It appears a permanent "construction zone" has been installed by residents to SLOW traffic. The signs have been up for two week now along with "Trucks Entering Road" signs on either side of the big orange signs. I'm gonna drive by in my truck in a couple days and take all the signs if they're still there.
  • Sw Wildwood Rd & Abbey Ln Sw Port Orchard, Washington, 98367 - Kitsap County

    Dear Road Maintenance Division,

    I hope you're doing well.

I’m writing as a resident of Abbey Lane to share a small concern that has come up following the repaving/roadwork on Wildwood. First, I’d like to thank you and your team for the improvements — the work on Wildwood looks great and is a real benefit to our neighborhood.

I did want to mention that the transition area between Wildwood and Abbey Lane has become a bit uneven since the repairs were completed. It’s a little rough when turning onto or off of Abbey Lane, and I’m concerned it might cause some issues for drivers over time.

If possible, would it be possible for someone to take a look and see if there’s a way to smooth out that spot? We’d really appreciate it, and I know it would make a big difference for everyone who lives and travels through here.

Thank you so much for your time, your hard work, and for all you do to keep our roads in great shape. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need more details.
