A representative from the water department came to investigate the sink holes in my lawn and said that I need to contact the contractors that were hired by the City water department to address this dangerous sink hole and damaged lawn. This is totally unacceptable! It is not my responsibility to contact these contractors, I did not hire these contractors, nor do I know who they are. My hope was that the water department would come out, see the damage and sink hole and restore my property. Instead of fixing the issues that the contractors that they hired created. The water department wants to pass the blame and give the residents of this area inadequate services. It is unfortunate that now I have to dedicate my time to escalate these issues that the city wants to ignore and have the taxpayers suffer the cost to restore their botched replacement service. The unsightly patch work to our streets, sidewalks and lawns after this water line replacement is evident that our area received the "LOWEST LEVEL" of service replacement than compared to other areas in the city that received water line replacements . I'm confident the City would not want this kind of exposure to reach higher offices and bring shame to the services that the taxpaying residents received. Please honor your commitment to being of great service to the citizens of Detroit and keeping us safe. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
