There are a couple of folks clear cutting to make a path, which appears to go between the east end of New London Ct and, heading north, to the new development between Weaver and Finch. The clear cutting is being done inside of the 150' area protected to preserve Salmon Creek.
  • 9284 Ferncliff Avenue Northeast Bainbridge Island, Washington - Bainbridge Island
The bank was cleared of trees -- apparently without permit or notification to neighbors. The property owners were informed on several occasions that shoreline regulations existed that required permitting and that limited the amount of pruning. The attached photos show stumps where large trees were cut to the ground.

City building dept closed building permit BLD20801 incorrectly. The permit was for a 4 shipping container garage, at the time of closure the building was 5 containers and a appurtenance on the back. The building is now at least 50% larger than allowed by permit. It appears that the extra addition extends into the critical area buffer. It also appears that the Group "U" designation for the structure is incorrect as the building is used for car repair/modification, machine shop, blacksmithing, welding and fabrication area and minor/adult welding school as well as additional classes such as kinetics and electronics.

My neighbors have been building a rock wall or something in the middle of the night on the beach. Is this OK? Do they need a permit? I would like that they do not know that I am asking these questions. Another neighbor is concerned as well. please advise.

    Play structure in shoreline.
  • 11626 Olympic View Dr Ne Bainbridge Island, WA, 98110, USA - Bainbridge Island
There is a developer removing trees on this parcel, with no posted clearing or permit signs. The property had large trees and fronts the Ferry Dell Trail, where it looks like a lot of the brush has been pushed. Neighbors say the plan is to squeeze two houses onto this property, and I have no idea how there is a septic field large enough to handle this without polluting the Ferry Dell stream. Is this permitted and approved building, and if so, how is this in keeping with Bainbridge's strategic plan?
  • 10700 Ne Torvanger Rd Bainbridge Island, WA, 98110, USA - Bainbridge Island
The cutting is visible from the west end of Torvanger Road which terminates after John street down a single lane road that is public. The cutting is taking place on the large lot to the North. Many large, mature fir trees have been cut down, and judging from surveyor stakes, the clearing is taking place in critical coastline areas--within 100 ft of an unstable high bluff.

More pallets thrown by the side of the road at the storage business.
