We would like to submit a formal complaint to the City of Oakland regarding the parklet that sits right in front of our building. Our building is located at 1624 Franklin Street. The restaurant with the parklet is Sobre Mesa and is located at 1618 Franklin Street. We have had discussions with the restaurant owner as well as had the City of Oakland’s Reginald Bazile, the Assistant Director of City of Oakland Department of Transportation of the many issues this is causing.
1. We are in the process of a large lobby expansion with retail presence. Having a large parklet directly in front of the front entrance will deter a retail tenant from wanting to visit this location.
2. The parklet is often filled with trash, unhoused persons and has graffiti on all three walls of the parklet.
3. We were never notified nor gave approval for the structure that basically blocks direct access to our front doors. We have medical practices in our building that often need the space right outside our building to bring their patients out that have just completed surgery. The parklet has discontinued that ability.
4. In addition, the parklet itself is not ADA compliant and is riddled with safety and trip hazards evidenced by the provided photos.
5. We have filed a complaint #14146903 regarding the Graffiti that is on the parklet.

House that was remodeling cut down a tree in Knowland Park that was blocking their view of the bay. It is almost 200 feet from there house and was a healthy, large oak tree.

they were doing construction on Sunday. it was very loud. they had a generator and we're doing welding and cutting outside.

Illegal mechanic business fixing cars all day/night, storing unfixed cars on shared private easement driveway and also on street . Loud noise and smoking. Blocking entrances with cars. Constant traffic of customers blocking driveways.

Appears to be an unlicensed dog grooming business, patrons often block our street so that traffic cannot go through
