City of Oakland Private Property - Code Enforcement PLUS

7/11 recently installed a camera, flood light/flashing blue light, and loud speaker as theft deterrent, but it is extremely loud and bright, which disturbs everyone who lives on the block. I can hear the announcement and see the light from within my apartment across the street at all hours, and I'm not sure how they are allowed to install something that is so disruptive for nearby residents. Is there anything that can be done to mitigate the impact?

Auto shop at 6200 Shattuck Ave being illegally operated today (10/7/21) by evicted tenant per settlement agreement signed on May 10, 2021 with City Attorney Patrick Bears and City Administrator Greg Minor.

This property is hosting outdoor parties with amplified music every other Saturday. Though it's a residential neighborhood, there's a sign on the home advertising a business.

This property is being used as a car repair shop, cars and trucks are parked up and down the street. My tenants at 1007 complain about noise because they work into the night and nastiness, garbage everywhere and flies.

They are prepping food in here, not only that place isn't sanitary. They sell food from this to the food cart st the corner that blocks traffic all morning. And at night it's worse.

Complaint of Trash enclosure

DS220393 Information on permit omitted two items. The first is the placement of enclosure on property line. The second is the side view of the shed. The construction resulted in the eaves of the roof extending beyond the footprint of the structure onto the neighbor’s property and directs the water runoff from the shed’s roof to the neighbor’s electrical panel and foundation. The corrugated fiberglass panels used in the construction of roof creates a loud drum noise when it rains. Attached is an overhead drawing of the final placement of the shed. This is the second shed build on the property line. The first enclosure was built without a permit and creates the same problems. Both structures may not meet required setbacks. There is a pattern of conflict between permit application and build. There are two issues with the construction on Permit DDRX1814654. The placement of garbage pad was beyond plan. The build of the trellis was not placed as stated on permit. Complaint Record ID 1803365 was filed on this permit/build. The Record Status: Pending Investigation. The Record Status Date: 9/24/2018

Daily Vehicle & Non-Resident Trespass, Public Exposure to Hazardous Smoke, 2nd Hand Smoke & Related Litter. COMPLAINT.

The owner and tenants (at this duplex 213 & 215 - 8th St) appear aware of frequent outside (not related to residence) vehicles that park in its driveway. The driveway is short and vehicles that park there without permission (trespass) frequently encroach, block and restrict the pedestrian sidewalk. The property owner(s) apparently do not know how to correct this daily problem.

The vehicles-drivers that park there are for their convenience only and to patronize the business next door (Won Kee Supermarket, 233-8th St). There is a sign at the top edge of the garage door, "DO NOT PARK ON DRIVEDWAY" but it is ignored.

Most of the male adult Asian employees from the supermarket trespass into the driveway and sit on the steps to smoke, creating a public exposure to hazardous smoke and 2nd hand smoke along with their litter (cigarette butts and packaging) that has to be cleaned by the residence owner's assistant. Their smoking is clearly within 25-feet of the front entrances of the residence and jeopardize those walking on the pedestrian sidewalk, including children, seniors and non-smokers.

Investigation, monitoring and a positive permanent solution requested.

Property divided into two units, for one for long term rental and one for short term rental. Is this allowed? Do they have an city business permit/license for the airbnb? Property is not owner occupied
