    As usual, the guy "Roger" at 416 Ghormley is at it again, LOUD banging, cutting metal recycling this morning, throwing junk into the heaping trailer that sits out here most of the time, a total blight for neighbors to see, not to mention the noise, its not zoned here for this kind of business, but, Code enforcement seems to do nothing about this ongoing BS!...Seth "the inspector" hasn't done anything as I see, and continues to do the same, I contacted the head of zoning, David Miles, and he said, Report it on this site again...so, we'll see if anything gets done, if not, I'll be contacting the Mayors office and letting them know how inefficient this code department is, some changes need to happen, obviously!, meanwhile, the noise and Illegal processing of junk continues in this neighborhood!!!

    Neighbor is advertising for her new home business with signage reflected in picture attached. I am inquiring whether this is within City statutes. The sign seems intended for permanent placement and I am assuming neighbor intends to run classes from home / garage. I am concerned about the sign as well as patrons taking up precious street parking.

    Lumpia Company constantly hosts outdoor live music concerts and other amplified events. Concerts last for hours and go until very late at night. This is near residential buildings with seniors. Alcohol is consumed.

    There is an adult rooster nesting near or at 3160 Coolidge Avenue and it crows constantly, unknown if the residents there are intentionally keeping it, but if so, they are not bringing it in at night. Crows starting around 2:30 am and goes all morning and into the afternoon. Issue has gone on a few months now

    I am writing to report an ongoing violation at 9619 Birch Street, Oakland, CA, where an illegal dwelling unit has been established and is currently operating as a salon business.

    This unauthorized commercial activity is causing multiple issues in our residential neighborhood:

    Clients of the salon frequently block neighbors’ driveways with their vehicles.

    There is double parking on the street, which obstructs traffic and poses safety hazards.

    The increased traffic and parking congestion are negatively impacting residents’ quality of life.

    This operation appears to be in violation of Oakland’s zoning laws and municipal codes, including but not limited to:

    Oakland Municipal Code (OMC) 17.06.020 — Prohibits commercial activities in residential zones without proper permits.

    OMC 17.09.040 — Illegal dwelling units or accessory dwelling units without city approval.

    OMC 10.36.010 — Parking violations, including blocking driveways and double parking.

    OMC 8.24.020 — Public nuisance due to illegal business use affecting neighborhood livability.

    I respectfully request that the City of Oakland investigate this matter, enforce zoning regulations, and take appropriate action to restore neighborhood safety and quality of life.
