City of Oakland Private Property - Code Enforcement PLUS

Tall, big gate. No permit. Tall Fence (over six feet) no permit. House / Structure built on property no permit. House / Structure also built onto my property by 2 or 3 feet. The person, Jay Tidwell, appears to be living on his property (29-1077-14). He receives mail at a legal property across the street. He lives off the grid. The problem is that he is using my property as well and infringing on my rights as a property owner.

fence that had been blocking entry to lot is now gone, allowing neighborhood children to enter lot full of abandoned nails ant other sharp objects.

these guys use the back shed as a music studio and have huge parties. its disrespectful to the neighborhood. this isnt a outdoor club! electrical wires are a fire hazard. weve reported to oakland for noise nuisance an public disturbance wont do anything. when will oakland take action????

Permit Record RBC2202226 does not list Foundation or Foundation Pier work, removal and replacement of wood structural members. The inspection report does also does not outline review of this scope.
This property is for sale, by a known house flipper. During the viewing of this home, it was observed that new wood foundation and floor joist members installed that were not properly fastened. There was no evidence of anchor bolts, straps or post bracket/boot. Wood fasteners were poorly installed, not adhering to fastening depth tolerances know with todays building standards. The construction of these new foundation members appear to have a high probability of failing during seismic activity.

The Natural Hazard Disclosure lists this property in a "VERY STRONG" regional ground shaking area.

Approved plans are provided as part of the disclosure package. The approved plans show no scope of foundation work proposed.

In the Residential Earthquake Risk Disclosure Statement, the seller answered question 2 "Is your home bolted to its foundation?" with a response of "Don't Know"

There is reason to believe these floor joist and foundation members may have been replaced after final city inspections.

This tree is on city property but it is reaching into our back yard and damaging the roof of our garage. Can someone please come and remove the part that is damaging the roof?

Landlord refuses to acknowledge or provide remediation or rent adjustment for well-documented and communicated mold, dampness, and other water damage issues in Apt. 1. Furthermore, I have not had working heat in the unit in my 3 years of tenancy and have used space heaters to heat the apartment. My health has severely deteriorated due to documented and proven presence of mold which received minor remediation in January 2023 but no further action despite professional recommendation of bathroom reconstruction. With inclement weather, issues have worsened. Have left several voicemails with City of Oakland requesting an inspection but no reply yet. Picture is of visible ongoing leak under kitchen sink. PLEASE HELP.

I doubt they have permits for this.

This abandoned house is a community safety hazard. No one is maintaining the grounds, it appears to be used for drug transactions, and it emits a smell that I suspect is drug related. Auction off the property or tear it down into a lot in the interest of public safety.

690 58th Street. Fence rental company just removed the fence around property No work has been done there in at least a year. Blight!
