My personal safety and that of my family is a concern. it is often people who come to this address...This could be avoided with gate put up by City. Also the debris from the house falls on my house and the house needs to be knocked down as it is a hazzard.

Subject: Request for Inspection and Resolution of Health and Safety Concerns on Garside Street Newark NJ 07104

    To whom it may concern,

I am writing as a concerned citizen regarding several pressing issues on Garside Street that are posing significant health and safety hazards to the community.

    1. Excessive Garbage:
There is a large accumulation of garbage spanning from 89 Garside Street to 96 Garside Street. This is attracting rats that are actively running in and out of the area, making it unsafe for residents to get in and out of their cars or homes. Additionally, the sidewalks on both sides are obstructed, creating challenges for children and pedestrians. These properties appear to be rentals, and it seems that the landlords are neglecting their responsibilities for proper maintenance.
    2. Vacant Lot and Illegal Dumping:
Next to 83 Garside Street, there is a vacant lot where illegal dumping has been occurring. This is further exacerbating the unsanitary conditions in the neighborhood.
    3. Abandoned Home and Squatter Activity:
At 90 Garside Street, an abandoned home is now occupied by squatters. There are visible electrical extensions running out of the property, suggesting they have managed to obtain power. This situation presents a significant safety concern for the neighborhood, as the risk of fire or other hazards is high.

I kindly request that inspectors be sent to investigate these matters and take appropriate action. If required, I am happy to provide photographic evidence of the conditions and email them to your office.

Your attention to this urgent matter is greatly appreciated, as it is essential for the safety and well-being of our community.

    Respectfully,
    [A Concerned Citizen]
