THERE IS AN ABANDON PROPERTY ON 73 4TH ST.
THE OWNER LEFT THIS PROPERTY UNSAFE AND OPEN FOR SQUATTERS. LATE AT NIGHT DIFFERENT VEHICLES HAVE BEEN SEEN ON THIS PROPERTY, NOT KNOWING IF REPORTED STOLEN. THE COMMUNITY IS ASKING FOR THE NEWARK POLICE DEPARTMENT TO INVESTIGATE OR CONTACT OWNER TO SAFELY LOCK THIS PROPERTY FROM FURTHER CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES.

I am writing to report a dangerous situation involving an abandoned property in our neighborhood that poses significant safety and fire hazards. The building appears ready to collapse and is currently being occupied by squatters. It is on a street with a school, raising even greater concerns about the safety of children and families in the area.

The house is still powered by lights, which are being run through extension cords from the neighboring property, creating a severe fire risk. Despite these evident hazards, no action has been taken to address the situation, leaving the neighborhood in an unsafe condition.

This is a matter of urgency, as it not only endangers the squatters but also the surrounding community, including schoolchildren and nearby residents. I kindly urge the appropriate authorities to investigate and take immediate action to secure the property and mitigate these risks.

There are homeless people taking residence on this property and adjacent alley. The fencing has been torn down. Newark Police does not respond to these complaints The Housing Authority needs to secure and clean their property which is abandoned.
