Traffic SignsAcknowledgedDessa Dr & Edgemere Rd Town of Hamden, CT, 06517, USA - Spring GlenPlease remove the no parking signs in front of 18 Edgemere Road. They were placed there to keep parents/caretakers of St. Rita's students from parking there during pick up and drop off time. It is done anyway and not policed. However, the pick up and drop off times are limited to M-F during the school year. No visitors to my home can park in front of house ever because of these signs. Given that it is not policed, the person negatively impacted by the signs is the resident.

Tree Removal & TrimmingAcknowledged128 Broadway Hamden, CT, 06518, USA - test hamden SLI'm not sure if this is the correct place to report this but there is bamboo overtaking the corner of Broadway and Patterson.
It completely blocks the stop sign and the view of drivers at the intersection. -
Traffic SignsOpenPutnam Ave & Whitney Ave Hamden, Connecticut, 06517 - HamdenThe traffic stop line for the traffic light on Putnam Avenue near Whitney Avenue is to close to Whitney Avenue. Large trucks cannot make the turn if vehicles are near the current stop line on Putnam Avenue. The traffic stop line should be back at the location of the street trees near the corner which is approx. 15 feet further back on Putnam Ave.

Traffic SignsAcknowledged143 Belden Rd Hamden CT 06514, United States - HamdenFrom 153 Belden to 133 Belden should be no parking on that side of the street. The combination of people parking on the street and the curves/cross street make it a blind area. Very dangerous!

Traffic SignsAcknowledgedAugur St & Whitney Ave Town of Hamden, CT, 06517, USA - Hamden
The intersection of Augur/Whitney is extremely dangerous. People fly down whitney 60+mph, and taking a left onto augur (traveling northbound) puts you at serious risk of getting hit from behind.
Additionally there is no signage saying you can't take a left from augur onto whitney, but there is no time to react from cars coming around that corner, they WILL hit you. Also the shell gas station parks vans on a raised platform blocking view of traffic coming from the left.
This intersection needs a stop light or something, it is simply too dangerous and there are frequently serious accidents here.

Traffic SignsAcknowledged150 Welton St Hamden, Connecticut, 06517 - HamdenGood morning. My husband and I own Taylor Freezer of CT, located at 130-150 Welton Street. We are requesting to have a sign in front of our building and across the street that says "No Overnight Truck Parking". There have been several hit and run accidents involving our tenant's workers cars because of large trucks/trailers being left on the street in front of our building (mostly across the street) leaving little room for other trucks to pass. The other issue comes when trucks/trailers are left there for many days, sometimes weeks. And snow plowing...big issue.

Traffic SignsOpen06517 Hamden, CT, USA - HamdenPeople are driving around the barriers in east rock park, and it is dangerous. I almost got hit by a car while running yesterday, and I saw 5 cars in the blocked off section yesterday on my run from the parking lot in East Rock Park down to the baseball fields. Can we please get some more signage/less mobile barriers?

Traffic SignsOpenNewhall St Hamden, Connecticut, 06517 - HamdenMultiple request sent to the city via email/in person to install a speed hump/stop sign on Newhall/Augur st has proved futile. vehicles keep soaring through the curve day and night and every time someone races through with a loud noise my heart goes to my throat as I wait anxiously for them to pass through. this happens even after midnight. in addition to that, kids stay in this corner for this bus every morning and we see speeding vehicles taking the curve during this time as they care less about the kids. since a couple of incidents happened recently, the city of hamden is responsible in preventing a major disaster or tragedy before they happen again. it's no use fixing this issue after something bad happens. God forbid, if something happens, the city will have to hold themselves responsible for not taking action in a timely manner.

Traffic SignalsAcknowledged58 Church St Hamden, Connecticut, 06514 - HamdenThe intersection of Church Street, Garden Street and Grandview is a high traffic area. This is a 4 way intersection. It is also in a school zone. There are only stop signs that everyone seems to ignore! There have been several accidents. A great deal SPEED up and down these roads and across the intersections. This issue NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.
Speed bumps or a rotary be placed, before I have a car on my front porch or a neighbors, again!
Please address issue. -
Sidewalk ObstructionsAcknowledged1989-1999 Dixwell Ave Hamden, CT, 06514, USA - HamdenThis is one entrance ramp for cars to begin driving on the parkway. There is a sidewalk on both sides of this entrance ramp, but no crosswalk or any kind of pedestrian prioritization. For a pedestrian to walk on Dixwell Avenue towards the shopping centers past the high school requires that they already know enough about Hamden's countless, severely outdated and dangerous intersections, for them to choose, at the start of their trip, to instead use the other side of the road that actually does have a crosswalk, because there's no crosswalk at this parkway entrance ramp, NOR ANY WAY to cross over to the ONLY OTHER CROSSWALK that's painted at this intersection. The sidewalk on the northbound side of this road, just before the parkway entrance ramp, has a ramp at the end of it. The way this ramp is positioned forces any person who needs to avoid the step to TURN THEIR WALKING FEET LEFT AND WALK THEMSELF DIRECTLY ONTO THE ROUTE 10 PAVEMENT. Better watch out for any cars that don't check for people walking because they don't notice a sidewalk on this side of the road, especially given the lack of any other equipment necessary to allow pedestrians to be safe. Anyone angry enough to plow through the right on red will belt out that it's your fault for not using the crosswalk on the other side of Route 10 that you can't get to unless you walk yourself all the way back to Benham Street so let them drive straight in front of you for crying out loud.
