    Are there any animal services provided by Jersey City/Hudson County?

    I feed several outside cats near my property. I have had them all spayed/neutered at my expense via TNR. There used to be someone in the Heights section who did TNR.

    My question relates to cats that are sick. One of the cats I feed came down with respiratory illness which progressed to the point where he needed to be put down. I took him to a vet to be euthanized (at my expense, again, nearly $500).

    Is there no agency/organization in JC/Hudson County that offers free or low cost euthanasia for sick cats? I am a retired Senior Citizen and the expense is more than I can afford.
