I have lived in Jersey City Heights for 8 years and use Pershing Field tennis court and Basketball court day or night time. We are very grateful to the Recreation Department for keeping it open early morning and nighttime as well. Now it is said to close after sunset! What the reason for this? When was this decided and why residents like us not informed earlier or ask for our input? For us who sometimes work late, it is a welcome relief to wind down with a game of tennis or basketball at night. Not once we have any issue of any kind and we always pick up our trash. Whatever the issue is, closing the park should be the very last thing as it defeats the purpose of the park. In addition we think it is better especially for the youth population to spend time at the court then doing other less healthy activities. Playing sports helps all people cognitively, physically and emotionally. So please let us know to whom to contact to discuss about keeping the park open at night or early morning and helping to resolve any current issues facing the tennis and basketball courts. Thanks for listening.

This business - 831 Newark - uses the sidewalk as an extension of their grocery store. The sidewalk is blocked daily / all day with pallets for unloading and boxes of open food for sale.

On many days there is virtually no sidewalk left for walking.

    Thank you

Contractor installed windows smaller than existing historical openings of the building. Please look at upper floors. This house falls under historical district and is not allowed. Please have historical and/or zoning agent investigate.

This is a historic row of brownstone buildings is jersey city and there is no permit for the work they are doing. I feel that it is taking away from the historic preservation of these beautiful historic brownstones. There are certainly guidelines for what you and cannot do on the front of a historic brownstone building. Especially given the fact that there are no permits shown for the work being performed.

No words come to mind to describe how I feel. This store, in particular, is choas, as is the entire street. Patel Video has set up tables, seats, and an advertisement sign on the sidewalk and is running at full capacity. In addition to literally having no room to move, these individuals set up standing tables on the sidewalk for their customers to drink and party. They are open from 3 p.m. until 1 a.m. Please take the necessary steps to create a lasting solution. After midnight party the whole street is filled with trash from the store due to the standing tables especially Friday Saturday and Sunday.

  • 368-398 Bramhall Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - Bergen-Lafayette
Parking area at approximate address of 372 Bramhall Avenue (north side of street, nearest cross st is Van Horne) has allocated THREE spots with no parking signs yet one of the spots (in photo to the left of the Xfinity truck) is at a raised curve and therefore should be street parking. Owner / renter is trying to reserve three spots when in fact it seems it should only be two. Can the city look into this? This "third spot" really should be a spot for street parking ?!?!!! Note license plate numbers on cars (in case you need to get in touch with owner as there's no home attached) are (1) xw-213F (commercial NJ) and (2) WLK-40G (NJ) please look into this.

1 Burma Rd Jersey City, New Jersey, 07305 - Liberty Park
For the past few weeks when driving by 1 Burma Road I noticed the once long vacant lot starting to fill up with trucks, truck cargo box frames, old tires, and now a repair building was erected. A sign has gone up on the fence with the companies name. Sunhing Logistic Inc. Reynold Logistic Inc Warehouse Logistics Trucking Services. I see no permits on the sdl website and nothing in the planning or zoning board meeting minutes. How can a business takeover a vacant lot without Jersey City’s approval? Especially this type of business. They are doing major work on the vehicles in the building (see photo) and on the side of the building. There must be 100 to 200 old tires surrounding the property inside the fence. I am reporting this issue in the construction category because of the repair building and the construction of the whole lot but it could go into many more. Please do something. This mess is at the roundabout at the rear entrance to LSP near the old Liberty Diner that just came down to make way for the movie studio. Thank you.

50 Dey St Jersey City, New Jersey, 07306 - Journal Square
Last June I applied for a Letter of Determination from city Zoning Department, Nick Taylor, and paid the $100 fee for the letter. In August I wrote and asked when the letter would be provided because we needed it. There was no reply.
In October I wrote and said we no longer needed the letter, so would the city please refund the fee since the service was never provided. I received a reply from Mr. Taylor asking how I paid the fee. I provided the information.
To date, I have not received my refund or any information from the city. Zoning does not answer their phone. What is the procedure for getting my refund?
  • 38 Division St Jersey City, New Jersey, 07302 - Downtown
Fence is in conflict with Zoning section 345-67. Height and material are in conflict. A temporary fence has been up for more than 3years and causes tripping hazards on the sidewalk.
