  • Lapointe Park Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal Square
LaPointe Park located on Stuyvesant Ave, needs serious repairs. The spray ground’s turf has multiple cracks that could be a potential falling hazard for kids. The walls along the park have chipped paint and are peeling. The tree guards are coming up also could be a fall hazard. I have been a resident of Jc for 30 years and raising my children here, we would love to enjoy this park as much as I did when I was growing up, it is just in major need of Renovation and refresh for generations to come. Please send some one to take a further look.

This turned-up tree grate is one of the many tripping hazards in Enos Jones. I commend the city for flattening out the pavers near the picnic area. That work was done quickly and it was long overdue.

But there are more examples of these tripping hazards across the park.

The 3 tree beds in front of the village park are full of weeds & one has all of these wires in it.
  • Terrace Avenue Park - The Heights
These adults come to terrace park and organize their own game and set up their own volleyball court and take the court not letting anyone else play. Is this allowed because wouldn't this be using public parks to organized sport use?
  • 50 Dey St Jersey City, New Jersey, 07306 - Journal Square

Can you please recategorize this to Zoning? I could not find a listing that would be routed to that office.

In August of 2023, we brought this issue of Canco Lofts not sharing the picnic area (tables/grills) and dog park with the public. Now its again will it be another summer of this building robbing the taxpayers of their rightful public space? The previous ticket was closed. When will these spaces get signage and be open to the public and what is being done about the residents who are picking fist fights and harassing people who try to use these spaces? I borrowed an image from another user to show what the current space looks like. Why are they allowed to have a huge hill of grass that says keep off? That is also meant to be a public space!

Basement hatch on public sidewalk is collapsing. Tripping hazard.

I remind, that once this structure is demolished, no new hatch can be permitted. There is no such a thing as grandfathering hatch when new structure is erected.

  • 71 Skillman Ave Jersey City NJ 07306, United States - Journal Square
This fence is a zoning violation on multiple fronts and needs to be removed. They were forced to remove the bar wire only to replace it with a homemade version. This needs to be removed as well in the interim.

12 Beacon Ave Jersey City NJ 07306, United States - The Heights
This new structure is in the back of 12 Beacon Ave and exceeds the height allowed. Residents fought to limit the height of this new construction. The new structure is taller than the existing home and construction is not done. (Picture with pink line) There were originally three garages the same height and the one circled in pink.

    Dear Jersey housing department
I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding serious housing violations at the property located at 59 Ferry St, Jersey City, NJ 07307, where I resided from 2021 to 2023. During my time at this property, I observed multiple violations that raise concerns about the safety and legality of the rental arrangements.

Summary of Violations and Key Details

    Unregistered Multi-Dwelling Use:
The property was rented to three separate tenants who were unrelated.
One female tenant resided downstairs, while I shared the upstairs unit with a male tenant. This indicates the property was used as a multi-dwelling rental unit without proper registration or approval.

    Absence of the Landlord:
During my residency, the landlord was absent and did not reside at the property.
The property was rented out entirely, suggesting it was used as an unregistered income-generating rental property.

    Fraudulent Actions to Avoid Inspections:
The landlord instructed me not to open the door during official inspections.
This appears to have been a deliberate attempt to avoid legal scrutiny and conceal the property’s non-compliance with housing regulations.

    Pattern of Violations and Inspections:
The property has a history of multiple re-inspections and ongoing violations, including issues related to obstruction and safety concerns.

I would like to request the following information, if available:

    1. Confirmation of the property's classification as a Rooming and Boarding home.

    2. Details of any inspections, violations, or compliance actions associated with this property.

    3. Registration or licensing status of this property under Rooming and Boarding regulations.

    4. Any additional information regarding safety or occupancy standards applicable to this property.

If there are specific steps or documentation needed to proceed with my inquiry, please let me know. I appreciate your assistance in this matter.

Thank you for your time, and I look forward to your response.

    Best regards,

    Jiawei Lu
