This abandoned, peeling & disgusting signage is the very definition of BLIGHT. For months, there was a ripped canvas hanging from it, that is finally gone, and this is what we're left with, at a very prominent intersection in the heart of Journal Square.
This structure is extremely ugly and needs to be demolished. Please get this process started.
  • 278 Monmouth St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
Large bright sign is too blinding every time I drive down this street. Also should not fly with historic.
  • 150 Bay St Jersey City, New Jersey, 07302 - Downtown
150 Bay Street retail spaces unaware of any banner and sign size restrictions. Many examples of vinyl advertisements hanging along public right-of-way elevated platform on all sides of the building. The business blade ? signs hanging from the side of the building are too large (possibly blocking security cameras) in some locations.
  • 306 Varick St Jersey City, New Jersey, 07302 - Downtown
This enormous sign touting luxury rentals in a townhouse that's under construction seems completely out of place in a residental neighborhood (and may well be in violation of the Jersey City Historic Districts guidelines).
  • 781 Newark Ave Jersey City NJ 07306, United States - Journal Square
This sign is illegal. There is no permit for it.
  • 25 Columbus Dr Jersey City, New Jersey, 07302 - The Waterfront
Advertisement banner has been attached to building for longer than six months... coming close to three years. Please ask this property to remove all advertising banners attached to the exterior building.
  • 151 Newark Ave Jersey City, New Jersey, 07302 - Downtown
Large sign and banners on business. I am a local business owner with a larger storefront, but my sign had to be smaller? Why does this business get to have so much signage when everyone else on the block had to obey the laws?

I came home to find two individuals leaving my property after placing a voting sign on my front door. While parking, I rolled down my window to let them know that they could be fined because I have both a no solicitation sign on my door and a no trespassing sign on my fence. The two individuals then became irate and the man started cursing at me and walking towards me and I told him to back up. They said they can't be fined, maybe the company , but not them because it's not solicitation according to their bosses. The man kept telling me to "stay there" repeatedly while I was trying to get out of my car after getting home from work so that their bosses could talk to me. I said okay have your bosses come over and I'll look up the ordinance for you. I didn't know till after the ordeal that they had actually been cursing at my neighbor two doors down when I pulled up and started saying how he was at the "crazy houses". I finished parking my car and gathered all my belongings to walk into my house and then he yells at me, "no, stay there, just f***ing stay there" trying to tell me not to go in my house while walking towards my gate and yelling. I told him to back off and that this is now bordering on harassment and trespassing and that I have a no trespassing sign for a reason and I became agitated as well. At this point, their "bosses" had shown up and I told them how he was talking to us and he then tried to deny it and I told him I have it all on my ring camera so try telling them how he didn't curse at me. He walked away and the bosses apologized. My Father is disabled and we do not want anyone on our property aside for deliveries that we have already approved. I looked up the ordinance for Jersey City and it states, "Jersey City's Code of Ordinances, specifically Section 81-6, prohibits the distribution of handbills on private property when a resident has requested it or when a sign indicating a prohibition is displayed. The ordinance specifies that violating this rule can result in fines and potentially further penalties for repeat offenses, as noted by the City of Jersey City (.gov). These penalties can include fines up to $1,250, community service, and even revocation of municipal business licenses for repeat offenders, according to the City of Jersey City (.gov). The ordinance prohibits depositing handbills on private property when a resident has requested it or when a "No Trespassing" or similar sign is displayed. This means the person who left the flyer may be subject to penalties, according to the City of Jersey City (.gov)." I do not know the name of the company as they had an unmarked van. On the bottom of the flyer it says paid for by "The Voter Project", so that may be the organization, I'm not sure. Please advise what I should do about this situation. Thank you so much.
  • 405 State Route 440 Jersey City, New Jersey, 07305 - Hackensack Riverfront

I thought I was seeing things traveling down rt 440 but no I wasn't. Workers installed a massive O'Dea for MAYOR sign over the old La Mexicana "night club" sign BOTH sides. I know you can request political signs to be installed on your property. But to put one in a space that is meant for a business's sign doesn't seem right. It is a distraction for drivers. Also, why would someone running for office put their picture and slogan on an abandoned run-down building.

It is covered with graffiti and windows are broken. What an eye sore has been like that for years after La Mexicana closed. It joins the other disgraceful rt 440 eyesore the old Capital One standalone bank building on the old Kmart (future Target) lot. According to Hudson County tax records the owner lives in Miami. I think they are the original owners of the Colonette Diner and were going to develop the property. Don't know what happened but the JerseyDigs link is below. Thanks.

  • 2395 John F Kennedy Blvd Jersey City, New Jersey, 07304 - West Side
Signs have been on the gravel of the parking lot of Walgreens near corner of Harrison and Kennedy boulevard for weeks. Property has a long history of being dirty and needs weekly observation by city.
  • 320 Webster Ave Jersey City 07307, United States - The Heights
These continue to spread. Existing drug dealer signs have not been removed along Congress St.
  • 371 Central Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The Heights
The signage is covered in bird poop Can the pharmacy clean up their business? The central ave business district should have some rules about this!
