 Location of Incident: Sidewalk in front of 92 Duncan Avenue, near the intersection of Kennedy Boulevard, Jersey City, NJ
Description of Incident:
On October 31, 2025, after shopping for my mother at C-Town Fresh Market located at 759 West Side Avenue, Jersey City.
While walking along Duncan Avenue, near my mother’s residence, I tripped and fell on the sidewalk in front of 92 Duncan Avenue, which is uneven, damaged, and lifted, creating a trip hazard. The fall occurred next to the parking lot area near where my mother lives.
As a result of this fall, I twisted and severely injured my left foot and ankle. I was transported to the medical center, where I am now preparing to undergo surgery on my left leg due to the injuries sustained from the fall.
The sidewalk at 92 Duncan Avenue is in poor and unsafe condition and presents a serious hazard to pedestrians. I am requesting that this hazardous sidewalk be repaired immediately to prevent future injuries.

Tripping hazard on the side of baseball field from tree roots.

Vehicle is parked in a way that blocks the sidewalk entirely, forcing pedestrians to walk into the roadway to pass. This is especially dangerous given the current snow conditions, which have already narrowed the walkway and created slippery surfaces. Individuals with strollers, wheelchairs, or mobility challenges are unable to pass safely.

There’s a tree completely lifting up the sidewalk. It’s a tripping hazard.

This sidewalk is very dangerous. You fly & hope to land safely. it’s a terrible crack & has been that way for yrs. it’s very scary when dark.

There are a few loose plates around the tree enclosure that are sticking out by a couple of inches. Someone could easily trip on these. They must be secured and leveled

The concrete plates are being displaced by the tree’s roots and so they are sticking out by 1-2 inches. This is a tripping hazard

A constituent reported that the sidewalk surrounding this property needs repair.

Same as next door: sidewalk is very uneven due to tree root

The sidewalk is cracked open and elevated so far, that it has become a hazard to pass, especially with a stroller.
