Sidewalk Concern MAIS

Looks like somebody just gave up trying to shovel the snow. The city or the state owns this area of the sidewalk.

As a resident of New York Avenue (The Sawyer), I’m requesting urgent cleaning, maintenance, and safety improvements to the pedestrian walkway and tunnel leading toward the Heights. This concern has been raised repeatedly in SeeClickFix, and I currently have an open ticket due to ice and snow creating hazardous conditions.

This walkway serves hundreds of residents from The Sawyer and The Devan and is a critical connection to neighborhood businesses. Yet it is severely undermaintained: overgrowth blocks much of the sidewalk, illegal dumping is common, lighting in the tunnel is inadequate, and there is no safe space for bikes or scooters—forcing dangerous interactions with pedestrians or traffic.

Many residents do not feel safe using this route, especially at night. Improving lighting, clearing overgrowth, enforcing sanitation, and evaluating bike safety measures would significantly enhance public safety and support local businesses in the Heights.

This corridor should be a safe, welcoming connection—not a barrier. I respectfully urge the city to prioritize improvements.

Brick building hasn't cleared the crosswalk at their curb.

Too small of a walkway next to the mall with no dip in the curb for strollers and blocked by a pole

The snow on the sidewalk hasn’t been removed adequately. It’s narrower than a baby’stroller width. I had difficulty to move my baby’s stroller through this patch.

I had to navigate around and take the stroller via main road which is hazardous.

Please remove adequate snow.

The Luis Marin side walk of most these houses never seems to gets shoveled, weeks since storm and still in poor condition

Constituent reports that after shoveling the sidewalk in front of their property as required, an individual who had parked their car in front of their property on the street shoveled the snow back onto the sidewalk by the property. The constituent reports that the offender's vehicle remains parked on the street in front of their property and requested a summons to be issued.
