351 Palisade Ave Jersey City, New Jersey, 07307 - The HeightsThis is flooding in the basement of 351 Palisade Ave, JC. This section of the basement is that of the commercial space, The Alps (wine bar). Owners of Alps say the water seems to be coming up from the sewer, smells really bad. Is this happening elsewhere in the city? What can we do about it asap?

Delineator issuesAcknowledged500-506 Newark Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal SquareCars are always whipping through this corner here, and cutting into the areas the bollards are (were). I think they need to be replaced at a minimum and something a little heftier or calming could slow drivers.

Delineator issuesAcknowledged400-498 Christopher Columbus Dr Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - DowntownColumbus Drive near the turnpike overpass (especially westbound) is very dangerous, and cars often take this turn at very high speeds, drifting into adjacent lanes. Columbus is like a drag race strip sometimes. Not only is Ferris High School right there, but there have been several extreme car crashes at the site, including one fatal crash just last year.
Drivers really need to be slowed down somehow, either with a flashing signal, reduced car lanes, speed bump, or a well-designed intersection with the Academy Street extension on the JC master plan.
Thanks, Tom -
Delineator issuesAcknowledgedChristopher Columbus Dr & Washington St Jersey City, NJ, 07311, USA - The WaterfrontWashington St headed south by Whole Foods needs better pedestrian infrastructure. The are two travel lanes for cars, but drivers use the bus stop and the bike lane to jump the line and make illegal right turns on red. This endangers anyone walking and rolling at the intersection.

Delineator issuesAcknowledgedLiberty Ave & Newark Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal Square
Newark Avenue (India square) - has become increasingly congested due to the rapid growth of restaurants, shops, and grocery stores in the area. While this development has energized the neighborhood, it has also led to serious traffic and pedestrian safety concerns.
This stretch of Newark Avenue currently functions as a two-way street with one lane in each direction and parking on both sides. The high volume of visitors, delivery drivers, and shoppers has created frequent blockages. Vehicles often stop mid-road for pickups and drop-offs, delivery drivers crowd storefronts, and parking searches cause lane obstructions. Ongoing construction has further narrowed sidewalks, making pedestrian movement difficult and unsafe.
Proposal: To alleviate congestion and improve safety, I request that Newark Avenue - up to the JFK Boulevard intersection - be converted into a one-way street. This change would:
Improve traffic flow and reduce gridlock
Enhance pedestrian safety
Support local businesses by improving access
Allow better coordination of delivery and service vehicles
This adjustment would help the street better serve the needs of the community without compromising safety or accessibility.
Thank you for considering this request.

Delineator issuesAcknowledgedCommunipaw Ave & Pacific Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - Bergen-Lafayette
Can we please have the delineator installs completed along Pacific? I noticed that it has finally been added along one block of Pacific (which we very much appreciate), but when will it be finished? It's been nearly two years since the paint for the bike lanes and curb bump-outs was put down, but we're still waiting on delineators.
Delineators are needed:
1) Along the entire stretch of the Pacific bike lane between the bike lane and parking.
2) Within each of the painted curb bump-outs along Pacific and the intersecting streets (see the Communipaw intersection half-done pictured here). -
Delineator issuesAcknowledgedCommunipaw Ave & Pine St Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - Bergen-Lafayette
Please replace the delineators that have been destroyed at the intersection of Communipaw and Pine St.
And add delineators at the corners where they weren't previously installed (there should be delineators extending from each crossing - 8 separate daylighting sections at this intersection). Pedestrian visibility is a major problem at this intersection.
