  • 385 8th St Jersey City, New Jersey, 07302 - Downtown
    Hello,
Residents of 385 8th were unable to leave (or access) the building after the rain of Nov 28th, or anytime it rains… the water pools in front of the main and only exit door and does not drain.
There is a construction site next door that might be making the matter worse, maybe clogged drains?
The only way in or out is walking into ankle deep water… is there anything that can be done to create at least a way for residents?
    Thank you so much

    Flooding on Cambridge Avenue.
    We deserve better.

I’m posting because the block of Cambridge between Congress and North Street has been flooding more often and with much more intensity than before. Many of us have already reported it and shared our concerns, but the situation just keeps getting worse.

On Thursday, 10/30/2025, our block flooded again. Several homes took in water, and for once the Fire Department showed up but only to a nearby luxury building whose basement had four feet of water. The rest of us were left to deal with it on our own, as usual.

It’s beyond frustrating. I’ve posted on SeeClickFix, only to receive snarky remarks from a city official. Meanwhile, this has become a recurring issue that affects property, safety, and peace of mind.

If the cost of living keeps rising, then so should the quality of life. The city, the county, whoever is responsible needs to take real, preventative action before the next storm hits.

Enough is enough. Our block deserves the attention and solutions, not silence.

Just so it is noted there was/is a major flood at Bentley and West Side. I saw it around 2 pm. Looking at Google maps there is a street sewer on each corner and one directly across the street on the LP side.

Might of went down by now but maybe check it out. Thank you.
