  • John F Kennedy Blvd & Van Winkle Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal Square
Please remove the turning lanes at Van Winkle approaching JFK, and allow more parking on this road to narrow the road way. Narrow the road with bumpouts too at JFK and Skillman and Liberty. We also need several speed bumps on this road. I was nearly hit by a driver who used the right lane to make a left hand turn onto JFK on a red light. The city needs to protect citizens from the current environment in JSQ. Traffic builds up on the routes designed for commuters (newark ave, JFK, 139) so drivers are creating short cuts through residential streets. These residential streets are so much more attractive to these drivers because they do not include the safety features already included on these larger roads (stop signs, traffic lights, etc.) We are really being put in a dangerous situation and since the city has not yet taken steps to curb cut through traffic in this region of the city, they should at least take the step to create barriers to speeding recklessly on side streets.
  • 2-38 Nelson Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The Heights
    Nelson Ave & Bleecker St
For better visibility, please kindly have the signal technician anchor NO TURN ON RED on the arm of the traffic light.
  • 12 Dales Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal Square

This street which is nameless requires a lot of attention. Last night (6/28/22) someone was hit by a car. Fortunately, no major injury.

There are no "Crosswalk" signs or paints.
There are no "Do not Enter" Cars exiting are illegally turning right into a one-way.

Need a Crosswalk, Do Not Enter, Crossing sigh, Stop sign. An accident is waiting to happen and not to mention there's a school 200 feet away

    Need to impose elements 1-5

  • 69 Montgomery St Jersey City 07302, United States - The Waterfront
USPS trucks enter and exit this driveway off of and onto Montgomery. Visibility of trucks exiting onto Montgomery when walking west on the sidewalk is nearly zero for pedestrians. Additionally, visibility for egressing trucks is equally as bad and observed trucks typically do not stop before moving over the sidewalk. This is a safety concern for pedestrians and USPS employees alike. There should be some additional signaling (e.g. flashing lights, sound emitting device, etc…) to indicate that a truck is exiting. This area has high foot traffic including small children and pets. This should be addressed before someone gets seriously injured or worse.
  • Mallory Ave & Williams Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - West Side
Add lights to pedestrian signs to cross Mallory ave at Williams ave. Cars do not obey yield signs and too many cars, fire trucks and police vehicles are double parked on Mallory at this intersection making it difficult for pedestrians to cross.
  • 4th St & Brunswick St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
Can the traffic signal at the corner of 4th and Newark be adjusted for the cars going East? Many cars end up in the intersection when the light is green for Brunswick? Extremely dangerous situation for pedestrians trying to cross this awkward intersection.
  • Graham St & Central Ave Jersey City, New Jersey, 07307 - The Heights
Cars are not respecting pedestrians between Graham St and Central Ave. Can a stop sign be placed at this location? People are double parking at the cross walk and it’s difficult for pedestrians to be seen and walk safely.
  • Jewett Ave & W Side Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - West Side
There is no proper cross walk here. This is a major issue. Cars are parked all the time, blocking the one crosswalk we have. There are two schools in this area. There needs to be a proper crosswalk to cross over to WSA
  • 620 Pavonia Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal Square
This is a picture of a maroon car that used the entered the sidewalk at the crosswalk and entrance of pedestrian walk from pavonia. Can this area be examined and fixed to prevent cars from driving here. Love the idea but the design on both sides of the street is very dangerous. This person drove half the block. I was almost run over on the journal squared side of the crosswalk by a man driving out of their garage. The fancy tile looks great but there is no indication that it's a driveway for pedestrians to be alert and these drivers are aggressive and entitled. This area will be great once these safety issues are addressed, until then I worry someone will be killed.
  • Abbett St & Ferry St Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The Heights
There is no crosswalk on Ferry between Central & Webster, but it's a big north-south pedestrian path. So is Sherman. There should be a crosswalk at one or both of these streets. It may slow cars down and make walking safer. Perhaps a speed bump too? This long, open stretch encourages fast driving.
  • Laidlaw Ave Jersey City, New Jersey, 07306 - The Heights
Resident called to inform us that on Laidlaw ave between Baldwin ave and Palisade ave care are speeding . He said cats are getting hit by cars and fears for pedestrian safety.
  • Saint Pauls Ave & Tonnele Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal Square
At 7:30pm the sun blinds drivers when they are waiting at this stop light. Is there any way to place a signal on the metal post to the right as well so drivers aren’t blinded? It’s a little dangerous at the moment. Anything would help. Thank you.
