  • Broadway & Tonnele Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal Square
Can the city remove the turning lane here and widen the sidewalks and add parking? It is impossible to safely use a sidewalk on this street because it is so narrow and lots of cars are parked on the sidewalk. everyone is always complaining about parking. get rid of the turning lane. It’s dangerous for pedestrians anyway. I noticed this frequently on Journal Square that the sidewalks are super narrow and there’s a turning lane. It seems like we are prioritizing cars over the safety of pedestrians in this entire ward. Sidewalks aren't wide enough for two people to pass each other without one walking into the street.
  • 402 Palisade Ave Jersey City NJ 07307, United States - The Heights
A pedestrian was just hit at Hutton and Palisade and the driver fled. Please put a permanent pedestrian crossing sign, with lights. They are so many daycares along palisade, this is very serious for families here.
  • Communipaw Ave & Pine St Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - Bergen-Lafayette
This is a completely blind turn onto communipaw in both directions from Pine st Cars are constantly parked in the yellow causing extremely concerning blind spots There needs to be either a light or a stop sign in all directions This will help with both traffic safety and pedestrian safety
  • Christopher Columbus Dr & Coles St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
Without engineered solutions, pedestrians will be at risk. Our crosswalks are nonexistent.
  • Bay St & Greene St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - The Waterfront
Pedestrian safety hazard- Drivers don't stop for pedestrians at this intersection that has a pedestrian cross signal. Drivers do not abide, continue to speed, and are very aggressive. We feel unsafe. Please monitor and install something to make this corridor safer.
  • 1st St & Monmouth St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
Need a stop sign or stop light installed at this intersection urgently. It has been 3 years without a solution. Escalation is now warranted. This is a dangerous intersection, no stop sign or stop light for pedestrians. Cars speed through it. Many residents have had close calls.
  • 2nd St & Erie St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
Hello, thank you for putting a stop sign at this intersection, it was much needed. But there is no line painted on the street with the word "stop" as the stop sign is new and slightly out of sight when trucks are parked there so some people are still driving through. Thanks
  • Bay St & Erie St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown

Illegal parking blocking sight lines for pedestrians and cars alike. Need curb extensions to reduce the risk to people around the heavily used pedestrian plaza.

Also note that this car has no concern about parking illegally bc of the badge in their windshield.

  • Astor Pl & Crescent Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - McGinley Square
A constituent called to report that this intersection has become a danger zone for pedestrians as cars speed through the street, even with speed humps already placed.
  • Sussex St & Van Vorst St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
Stop sign request. Can Stop signs be added on Van Vorst St at Sussex? Cars and trucks fly through this area where there is currently a daycare, kids from school and residents walking. It's becoming increasingly dangerous with the speed cars and trucks are going in both direction on this portion of the street
  • Mallory Ave & Williams Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - West Side
Add lights to pedestrian signs to cross Mallory ave at Williams ave. Cars do not obey yield signs and too many cars, fire trucks and police vehicles are double parked on Mallory at this intersection making it difficult for pedestrians to cross.
  • 272 Hoboken Ave Jersey City, NJ 07306, USA - The Heights
There's no stop line painted anywhere at this intersection and the stop sign is well past the cross walks. People are driving through the crosswalk at a high rate of speed. Please a second stop sign before the crosswalk and a stop line pavement marking for both. Curb extensions with vertical elements would also help. People are treating this like a highway on ramp.
