  • 241 Montgomery St Jersey City NJ 07302, United States - Downtown
The traffic between Barrow and Grove almost always flows at more than 50mph, which is double the 25mph limit. This is especially true in off peak hours This street is becoming riskier for pedestrians with two church's on this stretch It should be made one way street in the interest of public safety with parking on both sides of the street
  • Merseles St & Newark Ave Jersey City, New Jersey, 07302 - Downtown
flashing pedestrian safety lights are broken in one direction. they look unplugged or something
  • Grand St & Marin Blvd Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
People are using the new bike lane as a turning lane. I’m not sure what’s so hard to understand but I’ve seen it happen many times. I drive this route multiple times a day. The right turn heading north onto Marin from Grand.
  • 367 Palisade Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The Heights
The intersection of Franklin and Palisade is becoming increasingly dangerous for pedestrians. I was nearly run over this morning by a car turning right onto Palisade and the driver wasn’t even watching for pedestrians in the crosswalk. This is becoming too common- drivers are only focused on getting on car traffic. There needs to be something protecting pedestrians from right turning cars, especially considering a bus stop and multiple daycares are around this intersection.

157-195 Manhattan Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The Heights
Requesting the construction of necessary traffic calming measures on Manhattan Ave (a two lane, residential roadway with a posted speed of less than 30 mph) between 157 and 195.
  • Maple St & Pacific Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - Bergen-Lafayette
corner of maple and pacific is a very dangerous intersection as no cars stop for pedestrians. instead cars race to the light on johnston. I am requesting a 4way stop sign or light to be installed at this intersection
  • 5th St & Jersey Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
Driver flagrantly parked in a no parking space close to the crosswalk and ran over a barrier Posed a danger to pedestrians These flimsy barriers are not enough We need hard infrastructure to daylight This is a block away from the fatal accident involving a child just weeks ago We need to do more now
  • Cornelison Ave & Florence St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Journal Square
We are requesting a stop sign on this corner because cars come speeding down from the direction of bright street towards Florence St. I walk with my kids plus others to the bus stop and we have to proceed with caution because some don’t even slow down. Please add a stop sign here.
  • Bright St & Jersey Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
No one stops at the intersection of Jersey and Bright. It's already a 4 way stop and people don't even slow down at the stop signs.
  • Liberty Ave & Saint Pauls Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal Square
In the past year a neighbor has opened two requests for a pedestrian safety study at this intersection. Each time they have stated that vehicles do not stop at the stop signs or yield to pedestrians. Each time the city has tried to close the request and said its an enforcement issue. Today for about an hour I watched a cop sit at Liberty and pull people over who didnt stop. The only time he wasnt actively pulling someone over/writing a ticket was when he was turning his car around to go back to his spot. In the hour, he ticketed 5 cars because he spent that much time with each vehicle. Watching this just confirmed that enforcement is not the solution. A real study and redesign is what is needed. The city ended the one way study before they could collect the appropriate data. Same goes for the round about study. After that, they gave us a design on paper that never materialized in real life. We were promised raised pedestrian island. We dont have them. We were promised "no truck" signs, we dont have them. We were promised heavy duty bollards. We dont have them. We were promised wider pedestrian islands, we dont have them. The one at this intersection is about 12 inches wide. A pedestrian simply can not fit in that width. The city was not able to correctly address this road. That should not be the reason the ignore the situation from now on. Our streets are still very dangerous for all users- drivers and pedestrians. We need help and real studies. Stops signs do not work at this intersection as long as traffic is allowed to go eastbound from Tonnelle Circle.
  • 46 Journal Square Plz Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal Square
The crosswalk does not have a long enough pedestrian phase to get across unless you are totally able bodied. There is also no time between the pedestrian phase ending and the green light, placing pedestrians is serious danger.
  • 164–170 Lafayette St Jersey City NJ 07304, United States - Bergen-Lafayette
People are leaving the Whitlock Mills complex at 160 Lafayette Street, and the gate is consistently broken due to some people attempting to enter from the rear while it's open. This poses a significant risk to children and pedestrians in the vicinity. The straightforward solution to this pressing problem is to designate Lafayette Street as one-way from Manning Avenue to Pacific Avenue, as it's already one-way from Pacific Avenue to Monitor Street.
