  • 2nd St & Manila Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
  • 241 Montgomery St Jersey City NJ 07302, United States - Downtown
The traffic between Barrow and Grove almost always flows at more than 50mph, which is double the 25mph limit. This is especially true in off peak hours This street is becoming riskier for pedestrians with two church's on this stretch It should be made one way street in the interest of public safety with parking on both sides of the street
  • 164–170 Lafayette St Jersey City NJ 07304, United States - Bergen-Lafayette
People are leaving the Whitlock Mills complex at 160 Lafayette Street, and the gate is consistently broken due to some people attempting to enter from the rear while it's open. This poses a significant risk to children and pedestrians in the vicinity. The straightforward solution to this pressing problem is to designate Lafayette Street as one-way from Manning Avenue to Pacific Avenue, as it's already one-way from Pacific Avenue to Monitor Street.
  • 146-158 Lafayette St Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - Bergen-Lafayette
Vehicles come out of housing complex at 160 Lafayette at a high rate of speed. And it is very dangerous for people crossing back and forth from park

  • Morgan St & Warren St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown

Hi there, my name is Tim Riley and I am a resident at Modera Lofts, 350 Warren Street, with my wife and newborn son.

Since we moved in 2020, we have always thought of the intersection of Warren and Morgan as quite dangerous.

It would be great if there was more protection for pedestrians. There are numerous families and young children in the neighborhood. It is a highly used intersection between the apartment buildings (Modera Lofts, The Lively, and The Morgan) and neighborhood family activities/ businesses (Nimbus Dance, etc) all use this specific intersection.

    - Warren Street cross walks are not straight and people frequently cut across the intersection on a diagonal to get from the Southwest corner to the Northeast corner.
    - Vehicles driving South on Warren can’t always see the Stop sign. We have had numerous vehicles blow past the Stop sign all together, while we’ve been in the crosswalk, preparing to walk.
    - Between Christopher Columbus and Second, the Morgan Street intersection is the only North/South Stop sign, so drivers aren’t prepared, causing them to blow through the intersection.
    - Cars from all directions frequently do “quick stops” and don’t fully check their surroundings. We have been in the crosswalk, preparing to walk, and have had this happen.
    - Drivers are potentially using Warren as a “short cut” to get to the tunnel, which would bypass the traffic/ congestion on Martin, between Christopher Columbus and Second. This is causing increased traffic on Warren, especially during rush hours.

Ideally a traffic light would be the only way to ensure pedestrians are protected and vehicles are making full, complete stops.

I have included my contact info - email is best for any follow up comments/ questions!

  • Central Ave At Hutton St Jersey City, NJ 07307, USA - The Heights
Police vehicles consistently park in crosswalks at the intersection of Central and Hutton. Please install curb extensions to enforce the required 25 foot distance from the crosswalk.
  • Beacon Ave & Central Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - The Heights

There are no pedestrian signals at this intersection, yet there are 3 schools nearby.

There are poles on each of the four corners that can be used to mount pedestrian signals.

The additional wires needed may already exist. If not, additional wires could be pulled through the existing underground conduits.

  • Abbett St & Ferry St Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The Heights
There is no crosswalk on Ferry between Central & Webster, but it's a big north-south pedestrian path. So is Sherman. There should be a crosswalk at one or both of these streets. It may slow cars down and make walking safer. Perhaps a speed bump too? This long, open stretch encourages fast driving.
  • 193 Summit Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - McGinley Square
The starting point of Baldwin Ave, where it splits from Summit Ave is a busy thoroughfare. This is a 3 way intersection where vehicles going north on Summit have to keep to the left of the road , those north on Baldwin have to keep to the right . In addition to this there is the traffic going South from both Baldwin and Summit. There is a pedestrian crossing in between this . A school bus also stops on Summit at this intersection to drop off the kids. Currently there is no traffic signal , STOP sign, School Bus Stop sign or proper street markings to regulate the pedestrian crossing. It will be really helpful if a proper sign and markings can be installed at this location.
  • Lembeck Ave & Romar Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07305, USA - Greenville
intersection of lembeck and romar needs better protection. this intersection is blocked by cars and pedestrians cannot cross. plus no enforcement of parking creates near misses and noise from horns.
