Pedestrian Safety Study RequestReconocido290–304 Grove St Jersey City NJ 07302, United States - DowntownRestaurant street seating on Grove is making it challenging and unsafe for drivers and pedestrians These small huts make it challenging to see the stop signs or pedestrians trying to cross at the crosswalk More importantly these little hut like structures make it impossible for drivers to pull over and allow ambulances or police to pass Now that the pandemic sanctions are lifted can the city please remove these for safety concerns More cars are out and about as well as people since COVID restrictions are lifted which makes this more dangerous Please look into this ASAP Much Appreciated

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestReconocido160 Grand St Jersey City NJ 07302, United States - DowntownThere are cars constantly parked blocking the pedestrian cross in Van Vorst St and Grand St this is a safety issue for all the kids that go to the schools in the area I understand from the crossing officer that this are cars owned by people that work in the firefighter house and that's the reasons enforcement doesn't take care of the issue If that is the case, it is unfortunate that they don't lead by example, and other measures should be take to protect the pedestrians at this corner

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestReconocido461 Newark Ave Jersey City NJ 07306, United States - Journal SquareAnother major accident at this deeply unsafe section of newark avenue. Everything about this hill tells drivers "speed up." We need serious traffic calming measures to make them slow down. It's a lot better than it used to be, but this stretch has a ways to go before it's actually safe for pedestrians, not to mention an actually pleasant and useful urban space.

Traffic/Pedestrian Safety Study RequestsReconocido18th St & Coles St Jersey City, NJ, 07310, USA - Downtown
The intersection at 18th and Coles has a stop sign for traffic headed west on 18th street. There are three problems at this intersection.
1. Westbound traffic on 18th frequently ignores the stop sign, often making the assumption that northbound traffic on Coles will be turning right, to head eastbound on 18th (therefore not causing a conflict). This presents a potential for collision when northbound traffic on Coles intends to continue northbound.
2. There is a separate turnout lane for westbound traffic on 18th to head north on Coles. There is no control mechanism for this merging traffic; there should be a STOP sign.
3. There is no parking signage along the curb of the aforementioned turnout, which results in cars essentially parked along the curb of an intersection.

18th Street Pocket Park 837 Jersey Ave, Jersey City, NJ 07310, USA - DowntownEvery morning cars coming from Hoboken make a right turn onto 18th during the red light without even slowing down. I have been almost hit multiple times while crossing on the north side with the walk sign.

Traffic/Pedestrian Safety Study RequestsReconocidoHampton Ct Ter & Jersey Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
Stop signs needed at Jersey & Wayne.
It's impossible to see beyond parked cars when attempting to cross jersey avenue on Wayne Street. There is a stop sign at mercer and there needs to be another at wayne. cars aggressively accelerate and you basically have to creep out into the middle of the road before you can see if it's safe to continue

Parking issuesReconocido94 Nelson Ave Jersey City 07307, United States - The HeightsSomething needs to be done about the school parking issues on Irving St and Nelson Ave. Barriers were put in place and people just park next to them or run them over. I’ve been a resident of this area my entire life and it has gotten worse and worse. Parking Authority refuses to acknowledge the issue. It makes no sense that parents are dropping kids off and blocking crosswalks and corners where other children cross going to two other nearby schools. Please don’t allow someone’s kid getting run over or an accident be the reason this is finally remedied.

Traffic/Pedestrian Safety Study RequestsReconocido479 Washington Blvd Jersey City, NJ 07310, USA - The WaterfrontTraffic heading south on Washington Bl and turning right (west) on 6th st/Thomas Gagnon. Cars routinely ignore pedestrians and just drive through. Other drivers make this into a two lane turn, refusing to wait and pull out and around a waiting car. It's the most scary intersection on Washington Blvd

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestReconocido345 Baldwin Ave Jersey City NJ 07306, United States - Journal SquareNeed very urgent a light in Baldwin and Washburn. The cars never stop here, totally not fair that I need to wait every time until a car decide to Stop This is a safety concern. I always need to run so a car don't hit me. I understand before it wasn't a crowded street but not is becoming a more busy street and the city needs to fix this. Thank you!
