  • Palisade Avenue Jersey City, NJ - The Heights
The constituents are claiming that there is a wide distance on Palisades Ave From Beacon Ave to Ferry Street with no traffic device this is very dangerous for the constituents trying to cross the street traffic don't stop.
  • 38 Skillman Ave Jersey City 07306, United States - Journal Square
This is the most dangerous intersection for Pedestrians especially when the light at JFK and St Paul’s is green. Cars speed up St Paul’s without any regard for pedestrians ignoring the pedestrian crossing and blinking signs. There needs to be a speed bump or a stop sign here before someone gets run over.
  • 13 Ravine Ave Jersey City, NJ 07307, USA - The Heights
Please extend curbs on the south side of Ravine at New York. the crossing distance is very long and the turning radius is very wide.
  • Marin Blvd & Mercer St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
In response to a recently closed item for this crosswalk - the city is no longer installing flexible "stop for pedestrian" signs in the road, but the current signs that are up on the sidewalk are not enough to ensure that drivers are stopping for pedestrians in this crosswalk. Traffic frequently stops inside the crosswalk when backed up, leaving pedestrians vulnerable to walking into the street where it is not clear to drivers in different lanes to stop for them.
  • 163–287 Van Winkle Ave Jersey City NJ 07306, United States - Journal Square
This is between Tonnele Avenue and Van Winkle Avenue Is it possible set up some kind of traffic lights signal or stop sign for pedestrians here? It is very difficult to cross the road during anytime day or night. Cars do not want to stop and yield to the pedestrians. Thank you
  • 145 Palisade Ave Jersey City, NJ 07306, USA - The Heights

  • New York Ave & Ravine Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The Heights
There needs to be appropriate stop signs at this dangerous intersection .... cars are speeding coming from Palisade ave and also from New york ave and there seems to be no definite rule for crossing .... i have not seen anything done here for years and we do not want to see a tragedy before things get done !!!! SAFETY IS TOP PRIORITY FOR ALL PLEASE FIX !!!!!
  • 91 Booraem Ave Jersey City 07307, United States - The Heights
On intersection of Abbett and Booraem, there’s not enough streetlight and there’s no stop sign. With the parked cars on both sides on the street on Booraem, cars can’t see when someone is trying cross from Booraem to Abbett or vice versa. Can you please look into this and place lighting and a stop sign here?
  • 97 Monitor St Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - Bergen-Lafayette

The intersection of Pine and Johnston is extremely dangerous: limited sight distance, cars racing to making lights, excessive traffic from the bridge closing, poor crossing marking. This intersection would benefit greatly from simple changes like crossing lights to warn drivers of crossing, better markings, and a speed bump on Pine. However in the long-term, JC should consider a slow streets design the changes the street from a straight un-obstructed street to a street with intentional obstructions to slow traffic at intersections (e.g., circular planter in the middle of the intersection).

As this neighborhood grows, so will pedestrian traffic and JC needs be proactive about pedestrian safety.

This is also a major bike route for local residents, and desperately needs protected bike lanes.

  • 361 Monmouth St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
There was a second accident in about a week at Monmouth and Columbus. This intersection has been a disaster for years. It helped somewhat when the left turn signal was installed, but drivers going north on Monmouth still race to beat the light, as do drivers turning onto Monmouth from Columbus. Recent police enforcement helped too, but these efforts have apparently been halted. I have lived here for more than a decade and it is a miracle that no one has gotten killed yet. Something should be done before it's too late.
  • 461 Newark Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal Square
This stretch of Newark Ave needs bollards and/or more street trees. There was a car that recently knocked down all the street trees and drove into the building. The cars always come speeding down the curve, so it is only a matter of time before another one flies up onto the sidewalk and pedestrian gets hit. It is not safe for the many kids going up and down the hill to school and the parks.
  • 239 Ocean Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07305, USA - Greenville
I just received a call from the President of the P.T.A. of P.S.#20 School. He is also the Community liaison for this area. He wanted to know how to request the street closing at the intersection of Ocean Ave. & Cator Ave. for a half hour period in the morning and again in the afternoon.
The time he has request is from 8:10-8:40 AM for student arrival and from 2:10-2:40 PM for student dismissal.
He said, there is also the Glen D. Cunningham pre-school located in the same area. The traffic in this area is especially dangerous, because vehicles have been cutting through the parking lot of Peckman’s Pharmacy located on the corner of Ocean Ave. & Cator Ave. He said, one student was hit by one of this vehicles, but didn’t suffer any injuries.
