Pedestrian Safety Study RequestRiconosciuto18th St & Grove St Jersey City, NJ, 07310, USA - DowntownHi, there are a number of outstanding requests for fixing these barrels. After the barrels are fixed, there is usually more barrel damage within a week. The conditions that lead to cars hitting barrels may indicate an issue with safety at this intersection - for pedestrians, and motorists.

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestRiconosciutoHutton St & Summit Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The HeightsCars regularly blow through solid red lights at the intersection of Summit and Hutton. Case in point, I was almost was hit when a white sedan ignored the red light as I was crossing Summit. This happens at least once a day on my commute. Can you please do a study or put up a ticketing light to deter negligent drivers? Thank you.

Pedestrian Safety RequestRiconosciutoHarborside Pl & Hudson St Jersey City, NJ, 07311, USA - The Waterfront
The intersection at Harborside Pl and Hudson St has traffic lights that seem to be a legacy of the previous street design, when cars could cross the train track here. A 3-way stop would be better for both pedestrians and drivers.
Cars often have to wait for a long time at the red light here, even with no one around, leading to:
- lost time with no safety benefit
- more exhaust, noise, light pollution
- making drivers who drive here frequently more likely to turn illegally on the red light, leading to danger if they didn't see someonePedestrians have a higher risk here because they don't have the right of way by default, like they do with stop signs. However, there's little car traffic, so people generally will not wait for the light and will cross against the light, leading to risk if there does happen to be a car coming with a green light.
With the light sequence, (I think) the light can be green for cars to turn left onto Harborside at the same time as cars can go straight on Hudson. This is more likely to result in a head-on collision than just having a stop sign would be.
In summary, the lights here make traversing this intersection more dangerous and slower for pedestrians and cars alike, and would be better replaced with a 3-way stop

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestRiconosciutoNorth St & Sherman Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The HeightsWith the new stop signs on Congress St, North St by Washington Park has become the main thoroughfare for traffic and no one stops for pedestrians. This can be especially unsafe crossing into the park which many people do. Requesting stop signs along North st intersections to alleviate this concern and ideally shuffle traffic back to Congress st.
