Traffic/Pedestrian Safety Study RequestsRiconosciuto443 Ogden Ave Jersey City 07307, United States - The HeightsSomething like 30-50 / hr buses try to squeeze through the block of Congress between Paterson Plank and Palisade—plus hundreds of vehicles and pedestrians. The onstreet parking of 20 cars should be banned during the morning rush. It makes difficult for buses to turn and reduces visibility of pedestrians at crosswalks. This would be a minor inconvenience for 20 people easing travel for thousands.

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestRiconosciuto334 Baldwin Ave Jersey City NJ 07306, United States - Journal SquareNeed a traffic light here ASAP!!! Today I was waiting in the crosswalk for 3 minutes and 30 cars passed on Baldwin and none of them stopped!!! I didn't have any other choice than start waiting in the crosswalk and the car that needed to stop to let me cross started yelling at me and honk. I feel so sad and angry because this should be totally ilegal. Should I take pictures of every car that doesn't stop in a legal crosswalk? What is the solution here? With the 3 new building this is going to be a nightmare!! We need lights, this is extremely unsafe and dangerous

Parking issuesRiconosciuto525 Washington Blvd Jersey City NJ 07310, United States - The WaterfrontThese car service vehicles keep parking in the bike lane. They sit here unattended for quite a while. The bikes have to swerve into traffic to get around them. Very unsafe.

Parking issuesRiconosciuto94 Nelson Ave Jersey City 07307, United States - The HeightsYou’ve got your own Jersey City employees breaking parking poles and blocking the corner.

Traffic/Pedestrian Safety Study RequestsRiconosciuto187 Christopher Columbus Dr Jersey City 07302, United States - DowntownSomething needs to be done to slow the traffic and acceleration of vehicles traveling west on Columbus. Once they get through the congestion at Grove and pass Jersey Ave, drivers rapidly accelerate and speed from Jersey Ave west past Varick, Monmouth and Brunswick. It’s increasingly dangerous, not to mention a noise nuisance.

Traffic/Pedestrian Safety Study RequestsRiconosciuto2 Hopkins Ave Jersey City, NJ 07306, USA - The HeightsThe crosswalks on Hopkins Ave at Palisade Ave are constantly blocked by Dunkin Donuts customers. Because they are parked their for a short time each individual driver knows that they are very unlikely to be ticketed. However, so many people do it that as a pedestrian it feels like the crosswalk is always blocked. Drivers also roll through the crosswalk very fast especially if they are turning right. Curb extensions here would slow down turning drivers, improve sightlines for everyone involved and prevent blocking the crosswalk.

Traffic/Pedestrian Safety Study RequestsRiconosciutoCentral Ave & Hopkins Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - The HeightsDuring an afternoon walk, I witnessed the aftermath of a terrible accident that occurred on the corner of Central and Hopkins Avenue. Where you see the orange in the picture is where the victim was on the ground badly hurt. Her lower left leg had been sheared to the bone from the ankle up to the knee on the inside. It was horrible and she lost so much blood. I hope she is ok. I think she was taken to Jersey City Medical.
In the meantime, I have to tell you that this intersection is very unsafe. There is a school across the street and usually a school crossing guard. It needs a TRAFFIC LIGHT. Please do something. I don't know that a traffic light would have helped this woman, but I don't know that it wouldn't have either. This is a terrible situation. -
Streets: Traffic/Pedestrian Safety Issue/RequestRiconosciuto216 Bowers St Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The HeightsThis is the second time I've put in for this, but the intersection of Bowers and Milton NEEDS a stop sign! You disregarded it before but it is clearly a safety concern. I just watched a guy almost hit a woman crossing. I yelled at him that she had the right of way and he flipped me off. So of this not to mention how impossible it is to turn onto Bowers without pulling halfway into the intersection. It is so dangerous, and for what? To continue to leave this intersection without a stop sign is not only irresponsible, but shows how little Jersey City cares for pedestrians.

Traffic/Pedestrian Safety Study RequestsRiconosciuto32 Claremont Ave Jersey City 07305, United States - Bergen-LafayetteClaremont is a two way street which allows parking on both sides of the street. If two cars are coming in opposite directions there is no room to pass. This street should be a one way street or have parking on only one side
