I’ve been reporting this same safety issue for well over a year, and every single time it gets marked as a “duplicate” without any real action or update. That doesn’t solve the problem — the danger still exists every single day.

When you come from the Holland Tunnel on Marin Boulevard heading toward ShopRite, there is no dedicated left-turn signal at the intersection. Drivers trying to make a left turn are forced to wait for a break in heavy oncoming traffic — and when that finally stops, pedestrians begin crossing, leaving almost no safe window to turn.

This situation is extremely dangerous and has been that way for years. The city needs to install a dedicated left-turn signal at this intersection, so that turning vehicles have a protected green arrow phase before pedestrians cross.

Please stop closing these complaints as duplicates and provide a real update on:

    1. What steps are being taken to address this intersection,

    2. Whether a left-turn signal installation has been approved or reviewed, and

    3. When the public can expect a resolution.

This is a serious and ongoing traffic hazard that endangers both drivers and pedestrians. Please treat it as a high-priority safety issue.

    Traffic light is twisted
  • 18th St & Grove St Jersey City, NJ, 07310, USA - Downtown
The timing of these lights were changed during the Jersey Ave closure, and the timing has not since been changed back to how it was prior. It's giving a green light to Grove St approximately 80% of the cycle, causing unnecessary backups on 18th.
  • 1st St & Monmouth St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
The stop for pedestrian sign on First and Monmouth has been damaged and needs to be replaced with a new one. Drivers have consistently not followed it either.
  • Pavonia Ave & Summit Ave Jersey City, New Jersey, 07306 - Journal Square
the flow of traffic here is MESSED UP. cars are blocking the intersection, buses are taking shortcuts through bollards and making right turns onto pedestrians as they are crossing. there are close-calls constantly with vehicles who are driving erratically. please have all the lights turn red so pedestrians can cross safely! at the very least, eliminate right turns on red here!!!!!
  • Boland St Jersey City, New Jersey, 07306 - McGinley Square
    Day after day
    Week after week
    Month after month
We report to traffic and the city and nothing gets done -
We need the sign back NO PARKING CROSSWALK-
It’s been missing for a few years
No one tickets these cars and it’s dangerous
We have kids and wheelchair bound people that cannot cross and one with POLIO! Traffic says call the city- the city says call traffic
Just put up the sign and ticket or tow! It’s the same few people and not only is it dangerous it’s unfair to those of us that park blocks away because we choose to do the right thing and not park here
    Someone please help!!!!!

Major tripping hazard on sharp metal post in sidewalk Corner of Montgomery Street and Jersey Avenue
  • 43-67 Maple St Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - Bergen-Lafayette
I'm the third person to report this in 4-6 weeks, the bottom of a metal street sign is sticking out of the sidewalk on Maple St right by the rear of the Liberty State Park parking lot. I just saw an elderly (mid 60s) woman trip over this and take a hard fall onto her knees and wrists because of it. Fix it!!!

Communipaw Ave & Whiton St Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - Bergen-Lafayette
Cars are constantly parking on both sides of the street close to the intersection making it difficult to turn onto Whiton/communipaw
  • 60 Cottage St Jersey City NJ 07306, United States - Journal Square
This street sign is inside a tree pit and tied to a tree. If as a city, we care at all about our tree canopy we cannot put sign in tree pits, and we can certainly not be tying city owned infrastructure to a tree tree is going to be strangled
  • 3rd St & Newark Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown

Please install a street sign like the new ones that lets pedestrian press buttom and the yellow lights flash for crossing a street.

This is a serious dangerous street and we have young children everywhere, including kids going to school.

  • Newark Ave & Summit Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal Square
PATH sign got turned the wrong way when contractor installed scaffolding around building. Contractor decided they were too lazy to fix it when they removed their scaffolding. Sign is now pointing down the wrong street.
