Speed Hump RequestReconhecido768-782 Grand St Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - Bergen-LafayetteWe’re urgently requesting a speed hump or other traffic calming measures (e.g., stop sign, traffic light) on grand street between Clinton and Arlington Ave directly across from Arlington Park. Despite having submitted a prior formal request, cars continue to speed dangerously on this stretch, and there have been multiple crashes in recent months. It’s a high-foot-traffic area, and young children are often crossing to access the park. Pedestrian walkways are often ignored by speeding cars.

Traffic/Pedestrian Safety Study RequestsReconhecidoErie St & Pavonia Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
Hi - I am a longtime resident and mom living in Hamilton Park. I’d like to request that the corner of Erie and Pavonia (but really all corners around Cordero) receive the white parking towers that prevent people from parking in the crosswalks.
Two weeks ago after checking repeatedly, a woman who was parked very close to the crosswalk in the location attached hit me and my 6 week old son who was in his bassinet. Last week, I saw it happen again to someone else.
Both times happened after normal school hours, but during Casper after care. I believe installing the white parking towers would prevent possible tragedy by giving a buffer between parked cars and pedestrians. They’re in many other locations in our neighborhood and it seems that surrounding the school should be a priority.
That specific crosswalk does not even have pedestrian signage. Just the crosswalk.
Thank you.

Pedestrian Safety RequestReconhecidoArlington Ave & Grand St Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - Bergen-LafayetteThis is a large cross street with no traffic lights or pedestrian crossing light Cars will often speed through stop signs, even with schools and a park in the area, putting pedestrians in danger The city has been made aware of this before and I hope something is done before something horrible happens

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestReconhecidoHill Ave & Pavonia Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal SquareToday a car almost hit my husband in the corner of Newark and Pavonia. They driver was texting and he didn't Stop ( there is a Stop sign). Please add a Traffic light here or one of those small lights you have all over Newark. This is very dangerous, and hundreds of people cross this street everyday

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestReconhecidoBowers St & Summit Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The HeightsI have been almost hit by two different vehicles (and then verbally assaulted by the drivers) while walking along summit and crossing bowers with a walk signal (east side of the intersection). The drivers clearly believe they have the right of way at this intersection despite the walk signal. Can you install a Yield to Pedestrians sign or make the pedestrian right of way more obvious?

Speed Hump RequestReconhecido115–199 Marin Blvd Jersey City 07302, United States - DowntownHello. People speed down the road. I think you should add a stop sign. This is between 18 park and the vantage towards the water

Pedestrian Safety RequestReconhecidoJersey Ave & York St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - DowntownThis continues to be a serious problem. There is not a day that goes by where cars roll through or blatantly disregard the stop sign in both directions in an effort to make lights. I myself have nearly been hit many times, and my neighbor was nearly the latest casualty today--had he not jumped out of the way, he would have been hit. This is an active pedestrian (and child-focused) area given the park on the opposite side of the street, as well as numerous schools and day cares in the area. Someone will inevitably be hit if more is not done to beef up pedestrian safety on Jersey Ave (ie more lighted pedestrian walkways with crossing buttons/flashing lights in all 4 directions).

North St & Nelson Ave (Western Slope)
Is it possible if the traffic department can adopt "Leading Pedestrian Interval" due to school zone area?A "Leading Pedestrian Interval", which allows pedestrians a head start of a few seconds to cross without any cars moving at all (all signals turn red at the same time).

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestReconhecido68-80 Sip Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal SquareThere is a signalized intersection on Sip Avenue at the access road to the Journal Square Bus Station. The crosswalk at the western side of the intersection across Sip Avenue is missing. In addition, there is a temporary ramp up to the curb made of asphalt, but it is frequently blocked by parked vehicles. This is one of the main areas of pedestrian access to the bus terminal, and is busy with pedestrian traffic. As a crosswalk is missing and pedestrians frequently need to enter the street around parked cars, it feels very unsafe crossing here, like an accident waiting to happen. At a minimum, the crosswalk should be repainted, and the curb access should be restricted so that cars do not park blocking the crosswalk and ramp.
