Traffic Signal MaintenanceReconhecidoCongress St & Palisade Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The Heights
The intersection of Palisade Avenue and Congress Street becomes completely dysfunctional after 7:45 AM. There is not enough storage space between Paterson Plank Road and Palisade Avenue, creating severe congestion. This is compounded by vehicles using Ogden Avenue as a cut-through to avoid the intersection and make the right turn onto Congress. As a result, only one or two vehicles traveling east on Congress are able to get through the signal at a time, including the heavily used 119 bus route. This leads to buses stacking up, multiple full buses passing stops, and hundreds of riders being delayed. It is unacceptable that transit users bear the brunt of these traffic conditions while single-occupant vehicles are prioritized.
This issue has been raised repeatedly but continues to be ignored, leaving residents of the Heights overlooked compared to those downtown. If these concerns are taken seriously, the City should:
Assign a traffic agent at both this intersection and Paterson Plank Road to prevent the daily 30 minute traffic jam stretching to Central Avenue.
Deploy traffic enforcement to discourage cut-through traffic on Ogden Avenue (I acknowledge this is a pipe dream and may be difficult to enforce).
Restrict left turns from Palisade to Congress during AM and PM peak periods.
If these measures are not feasible, then funding an engineering study to identify solutions is essential. Continuing to do nothing is not acceptable.

SuggestionReconhecidoFranklin St & Hancock Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The HeightsMultiple cars are parked in the crosswalk or in the no parking area of said address making it difficult to see crossing pedestrians. Can they possible install the traffic sticks so no one parks there to obstruct the view

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestReconhecidoJewett Ave & Summit Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - McGinley SquareCars from both directions regularly turn into this street at a fast speed, not yielding for pedestrians at the crosswalk, many of whom are children headed to the recently built community park.

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestReconhecidoSip Ave At Garrison Ave Jersey City, NJ 07306, USA - Journal Square
There are two crosswalks here, and Sip is a busy road. People are constantly speeding down the hill from JFK and almost hitting people in the crosswalk
Is there any sort of traffic calming that can be added here?

Pedestrian Safety RequestReconhecidoMonmouth St & Newark Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
Exclusive pedestrian signal needed at the west crosswalk for crossing Newark at Monmouth.
Pedestrians should have an exclusive green walking signal, even if it is for 10-15 seconds, and cars turning left from Monmouth onto Newark should have a RED during that time.
This is a low budget, immediately actionable solution to a problem which could lead to potential deaths if not acted upon soon. The cars turning left from Monmouth to Newark turn at dangerous speeds and are endless.
This is the 7th request for this dangerous intersection, but do not mark it as a duplicate as this is specifically requesting an exclusive pedestrian signal timing.
Happy to answer further questions.

Old Bergen Rd At Winfield Ave Jersey City, NJ 07305, USA - GreenvilleThe intersection of Winfield and Old Bergen Rd. desperately needs stop signs, a traffic signal, or a speed bump. Cars speed dangerously down Old Bergen Rd at all hours as the entire stretch from Merritt St to Bartholdi has no traffic signals, stop signs, speed bumps, etc. The Winfield intersection is particularly vulnerable as residents, including children and those with pets, trying to cross into or out of Columbia Park face very dangerous conditions. These conditions also include cars turning left on to Old Bergen Rd. from Bartholdi when those cars catch the green light. Knowing there's no stop sign or speed bump there, cars turn left on to Old Bergen Rd at or above the speed limit with low visibility. if you're a pedestrian crossing Old Bergen Rd those left-turning cars are an additional hazard that are not visible and can't be anticipated.

Pedestrian Safety RequestReconhecidoJohnston Ave & Maple St Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - Bergen-LafayetteVery dangerous intersection, cars constantly parked past the “no parking here to curb” sign block visibility, causing near-accidents constantly. Also, cars often speed down Johnston and rarely slow for peds waiting for xwalk (partially because they are hard to see with cars parked illegally). A stop sign for both directions of traffic on Johnston would almost entirely solve these problems.

Pedestrian Safety RequestReconhecidoBramhall Ave & Garfield Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - Bergen-LafayetteThis food truck is on this corner almost every day and although it's parked legally, because of the size of the truck, it obstructs pedestrians from drivers before the crosswalk. This is already a very dangerous crosswalk that we citizens have attempted to bring attention to but we've been told the city is waiting until something tragic happens to change it The poles need to be moved back so that the truck moves back, right now it's making a very dangerous crosswalk even more dangerous.
