Pedestrian Safety RequestLa qirayPalisade Ave & Paterson Plank Rd Union City, NJ, 07087, USA - The HeightsThe signaling was recently redone on the corner of Paterson Plank Rd and Palisade Ave. Not only does there seem to be more car congestion and haphazard turning than before, but now pedestrians must wait for two complete traffic cycles to cross (which I just timed at 5:30pm to be approximately 4 minutes). This is leading to large groups of pedestrians waiting on these small, unsafe corners. The signaling is now a pedestrian all way, which while a great idea, only gives pedestrians about 16 seconds to cross. A few days ago I saw an elderly woman unable to make the full crossing of both streets in that amount of time. So, she waited, which means it took her nearly 9 minutes to traverse a single intersection. This is seriously negatively impacting the most vulnerable street users and completely disincentivizes pedestrian traffic. Please fix this—pedestrians should have the same priority as cars and be able to go after both ways of traffic go.

Herbert Pl & Newark Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal SquareAbsolutely ridiculous A plethora of open spaces and this panel can decides to hang out in a non parking zone Stop catering to these 2 blocks of businesses and put up barriers to allow for safe pedestrian passage

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestLa qirayNewark Ave & Summit Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal SquareThe pedestrian cross light at Newark and Summit Ave (crossing from one side of Newark Ave, in front of the library, to the other side) takes a very long time to change. As a result, most pedestrians don’t wait. I strongly suggest that this light is fixed to make it pedestrian friendly and/or that a crosswalk is added here.

Marin Blvd & Morgan St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
Traffic on Columbus and Marin is a headache and a hazard during rush hour and now with all the construction on Marin its becoming a nightmare.
Have you thought about
1. directing cars coming onto Morgan street between Marin and Newark to Newark Avenue
2. directing cars coming onto Morgan street between Marin and Warren to Warren Street.
3. By doing this you can remove the light on Marin/Morgan which will eliminate the backup on Columbusjust a thought

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestLa qirayColes St & Newark Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - DowntownThe corner here is incredible dangerous for pedestrians crossing. Cars heading east on Newark make aggressive right turns and I have almost been hit multiple times now.

Need daylighting/curb extensions at every corner, but especially those with businesses on them. Delivery drivers and people doing pickup treat the crosswalk as a loading zone.
Maybe just put actual loading zones around too.

Gardner Ave & Summit Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - McGinley SquareThe intersection of Gardner and Summit continues to be a safety issue. There was just another fender bender today. People coming out of Gardner cannot clearly see traffic coming from the north. Something needs to be improved immediately.

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestLa qiray9th St & Marin Blvd Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
Hi! There's a new traffic pattern at 9th St. and Manila Ave. Tonight, walking across Manila on a GREEN pedestrian light, I noticed that traffic turning right onto Manilla from 9th Street ALSO has a green at the same time. Cars understandably seem a little peeved having to stop as I walk across, but we both have a green light.
It seems like there is potential for a car to continue through on the green without stopping and hitting a pedestrian who is crossing Manilla on their (simultaneous) green. Please see my image taken Feb 3rd to get an idea.
Since it's a revamped intersection, I figured it's worth flagging ASAP since it's not very safe. There is no obvious indication or flashing "yield to pedestrian" light here for cars who are driving legally through a green light. Thanks for checking this out.

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestLa qirayColes St & I-78 W Jersey City, NJ, 07310, USA - DowntownHere is where I might die. More development means more pedestrians on Coles under that overpass thingy by Moishe's. Total blind left curve for drivers turning off Coles into the little street connecting to the tunnel entrances. Dark under there. Even if we had a little push light to do the flashing pedestrian warning.

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestLa qirayNewark Ave & Waldo Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal SquareIs there anyway a stop light can be put on that intersection of Waldo and Newark Ave Because that left turn sign doesn't seem to have drivers proper attention and they still continue to make the left turns anyways especially during school hours Not only it’s unsafe for the school zone but for the children on lunch or dismissal times

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestLa qiray26-32 Newport Pkwy Jersey City, NJ, 07310, USA - The WaterfrontThe city really needs to do a traffic safety study at this location The crosswalks on Newport Parkway just east of Washington boulevard are very dangerous Cars fly through here and do not stop for pedestrians in the cross walk It's been requested months ago, but the city hasn't done a thing Someone is going to get hurt or killed Let's address this issue

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestLa qirayMagnolia Ave & Summit Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal SquarePeople continue to park in the limited pedestrian areas along the JSQ buildings forcing people to weave between idling trucks/cars or walk into traffic. This issue has been raised multiple times. Enough is enough -- there are so many actual parking lots in the area so there is no reason for this egregious behavior. The city needs to hold these drivers or the developers accountable.
