Erie St & Pavonia Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
Hi - I am a longtime resident and mom living in Hamilton Park. I’d like to request that the corner of Erie and Pavonia (but really all corners around Cordero) receive the white parking towers that prevent people from parking in the crosswalks.
Two weeks ago after checking repeatedly, a woman who was parked very close to the crosswalk in the location attached hit me and my 6 week old son who was in his bassinet. Last week, I saw it happen again to someone else.
Both times happened after normal school hours, but during Casper after care. I believe installing the white parking towers would prevent possible tragedy by giving a buffer between parked cars and pedestrians. They’re in many other locations in our neighborhood and it seems that surrounding the school should be a priority.
That specific crosswalk does not even have pedestrian signage. Just the crosswalk.
Thank you.

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestLa qirayBowers St & Summit Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The HeightsI have been almost hit by two different vehicles (and then verbally assaulted by the drivers) while walking along summit and crossing bowers with a walk signal (east side of the intersection). The drivers clearly believe they have the right of way at this intersection despite the walk signal. Can you install a Yield to Pedestrians sign or make the pedestrian right of way more obvious?

112 Mcadoo Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07305, USA - GreenvilleThis is the retaining wall in my backyard ! This is just a part of the wall that's crumbling ! The road behind my house (Highview Road ) and my yard is right in front of 30 Highview Road which is now being repaved and I'm sure it's only going to make the wall crumble more !

Pedestrian Safety RequestLa qirayArlington Ave & Claremont Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07305, USA - Bergen-LafayetteCould we have an office at this intersection on weekday mornings? I nearly got hit crossing at the crosswalk this morning by someone running the stop sign. This is not the first time I've nearly been hit, and every single morning on my commute I see multiple people run these stop signs while people are trying to cross with young kids on their way to school. People speed down Arlington despite the speed bumps and it's getting out of hand!!

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestLa qiray373 Monmouth St Jersey City 07302, United States - Downtown
The Monmouth Ave redesign added three parking spots instead of adding a loading zone. Now delivery trucks just double park blocking the right lane. This causes congestion and tons of noise from honking as cars make an unexpected lane merge from 2 down to 1.
Make those spots a loading zone.

Traffic Signal MaintenanceLa qirayHomestead Pl & Pavonia Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal SquareAt Pavonia & Homestead there is a Rectangular Rapid-Flashing Beacon (RRFB) installation that pedestrians can actuate when they want to cross Pavonia Ave.
There are two signals, one at each end of the crosswalk, which have yellow LED lights to warn oncoming vehicles. A button is mounted on each pole below the beacons and signs.
Both sides normally flash when either button is pressed.
PSE&G installed a new wood pole to reroute high voltage wires away from the construction site at 616 Pavonia.
The pole blocks the view of the RRFB on the south side of the crosswalk from eastbound drivers.
The RRFB should be moved east, to the other side of the crosswalk, where it will be more visible to oncoming eastbound drivers.
