Traffic IYO

Hi, there are a number of outstanding requests for fixing these barrels. After the barrels are fixed, there is usually more barrel damage within a week. The conditions that lead to cars hitting barrels may indicate an issue with safety at this intersection - for pedestrians, and motorists.

This is a request for this parking garage for their entrance on cottage as well as the entrance on JFK. The main image is for the entrance on cottage. The curb cut extends from well past the first white car all the way to where the second white car is parked. There is no indication (paint or signs) cars parked right up to the driveway entrance and vehicles entering the lot on cottage drive at an extremely high rate of speed, turning onto the sidewalk without being able to see if pedestrians are using the sidewalk. On JFK the entrance and exit for the garage is incredibly wid and visually incorporated into the sidewalk. The exit behind pedestrians waiting to cross to the path station is in line with the red bumps for the crosswalk. I can not tell you how many close calls I have seen with drivers speeding to make the light here. I appreciate that it may not be feasible to ask the garage to narrow but as the city looks to update Cottage Ave something including paint and signs and maybe speed bumps on the immediate approach to the driveway would be helpful This may seem like a quiet dead end street but it is not because cars and pedestrians all use Herbert place as a cut through and it's very busy. Left Turn signals at 6th and Marin are needed. A busy intersection, coupled with multiple lanes turning, a little league field with pedestrians always crossing, and an impossible turn. This is needed and a no brainer.

Requesting a speed bump or a stop sign at this pedestrian heavy crossings on Van Winkle and Skillman Ave. Cars speed up this hill just to beat the signal and reach JFK Blvd. There have been multiple instances of pedestrians almost getting run over.

A constituent called to report that this intersection has become a danger zone for pedestrians as cars speed through the street, even with speed humps already placed.

Cars from both directions regularly turn into this street at a fast speed, not yielding for pedestrians at the crosswalk, many of whom are children headed to the recently built community park.

Cars regularly blow through solid red lights at the intersection of Summit and Hutton. Case in point, I was almost was hit when a white sedan ignored the red light as I was crossing Summit. This happens at least once a day on my commute. Can you please do a study or put up a ticketing light to deter negligent drivers? Thank you.

Baldwin Ave at Hopkins Ave sees near constant parking in the crosswalk and on sidewalks. We need curb extensions and bollards to keep drivers from blocking pedestrian right of way and sightlines.

Bramhall turned to a 1 Way Street due to excessive traffic and narrow street

The corner traffic light should have a left turn arrow first for people turning onto Mallory. The only way to get through a traffic light there when busy is to go through a red light.

This intersection is regularly blocked by congestion (overflow from the poor flow of traffic through the intersection of Newark and Grove Street that is technically hoboken) causing pedestrian safety issues due to poor visibility. Can a traffic study help? Painting lines to “not block the box”? Other?
