Newport Pkwy & Washington Blvd Jersey City, NJ, 07310, USA - The WaterfrontThe city really needs to do a traffic safety study at this location The crosswalks on Newport Parkway just east of Washington boulevard are very dangerous Cars fly through here and do not stop for pedestrians in the cross walk It's been requested months ago, but the city hasn't done a thing Someone is going to get hurt or killed Let's address this issue

32 Claremont Ave Jersey City 07305, United States - Bergen-LafayetteClaremont is a two way street which allows parking on both sides of the street. If two cars are coming in opposite directions there is no room to pass. This street should be a one way street or have parking on only one side

Carvao Bbq - McGinley Square
Today I saw for the millionth time a pedestrian who waited until a break in cars, crossed into the marked crosswalk, but had fast-moving cars speed up dangerously and attempt to mow the walker down! This has also happened to me personally. This crosswalk has signs but no lights. It is not adequate for safety. Drivers do not stop! Drivers do not seem to understand how crosswalks work.
Here's information about a study that shows cars need to be moving slower than 20mph to reliably stop for a pedestrian as required in a crosswalk, regardless of signage or laws: https://usa.streetsblog.org/2023/01/11/want-drivers-to-stop-at-crosswalks-slow-them-down-first/
Please consider:
-lowering speed limit for stretch of Bergen between Communipaw and Montgomery
-marking crosswalks in this section with lights (currently only the ones in front of the school a few blocks down have flashing lights)
-ticketing more for crosswalk or speeding violations in this area
Thank you very much

443 Ogden Ave Jersey City 07307, United States - The HeightsSomething like 30-50 / hr buses try to squeeze through the block of Congress between Paterson Plank and Palisade—plus hundreds of vehicles and pedestrians. The onstreet parking of 20 cars should be banned during the morning rush. It makes difficult for buses to turn and reduces visibility of pedestrians at crosswalks. This would be a minor inconvenience for 20 people easing travel for thousands.

296 Palisade Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The HeightsCars very often don't stop for pedestrians crossing Palisade at this crossing on Booraem Ave. Yesterday, 6/29 I stopped before the crossing to let a couple with a baby stroller to cross. They waited for the coming traffic to stop which tool awhile. When they started crossing they were almost hit but a car that came behind me on the right. Some drivers are just reckless. This guy then yelled at this couple for crossing Palisade. Can we have more police presence here to calm these type of drivers please? Maybe blinking light signs here would help? Thank you.

Grand St & Van Vorst St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - DowntownThere are cars constantly parked blocking the pedestrian cross in Van Vorst St and Grand St this is a safety issue for all the kids that go to the schools in the area I understand from the crossing officer that this are cars owned by people that work in the firefighter house and that's the reasons enforcement doesn't take care of the issue If that is the case, it is unfortunate that they don't lead by example, and other measures should be take to protect the pedestrians at this corner

379 Baldwin Ave Jersey City, NJ 07306, USA - The HeightsWe need bollards, poles, planters, or some other sort of physical deterrent to prevent vehicles from parking on the sidewalk on Baldwin Ave between NJ 139 and Fleet St. I observe personal, delivery, and city vehicles parking on the sidewalk here on a weekly basis. The barriers that are installed further north on Baldwin (poles between Fleet and St Pauls as well as between Hopkins and Beacon) seem to help to an extent. Please can this be replicated along the length of Baldwin Ave on the sides of the street with no parking to prevent this dangerous driver behavior? Baldwin Ave is on the city's high injury network, and the intersections at 139 and Jefferson are no strangers to tragic crashes.

539 Summit Ave Jersey City, NJ 07306, USA - Journal Squareintersection of pavonia and summit needs either a light for each direction of pavonia or a turn lane/turn signal

Stop signs needed at Jersey & Wayne.
It's impossible to see beyond parked cars when attempting to cross jersey avenue on Wayne Street. There is a stop sign at mercer and there needs to be another at wayne. cars aggressively accelerate and you basically have to creep out into the middle of the road before you can see if it's safe to continue

63 Sherman Pl Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The HeightsThe intersection of Sherman Place and Summit is perilous for pedestrians because cars race between the traffic lights at Manhattan and Hutton Streets. Drivers rarely stop for us when trying to cross, even when holding the hands of our children. There was yet another accident on Saturday when a car driving from Manhattan Ave to Hutton hit a car that was trying to make a left onto Summit — which is never easy. We need this intersection to become a 3-way Stop. The city added signs to stop for pedestrians a couple of years ago but the cars knocked them over and they were removed. It’s dangerous and unfair. I’ve lived her for 18 years and it only gets worse.

112 Mcadoo Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07305, USA - GreenvilleThis is the retaining wall in my backyard ! This is just a part of the wall that's crumbling ! The road behind my house (Highview Road ) and my yard is right in front of 30 Highview Road which is now being repaved and I'm sure it's only going to make the wall crumble more !
