296 Palisade Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The HeightsCars very often don't stop for pedestrians crossing Palisade at this crossing on Booraem Ave. Yesterday, 6/29 I stopped before the crossing to let a couple with a baby stroller to cross. They waited for the coming traffic to stop which tool awhile. When they started crossing they were almost hit but a car that came behind me on the right. Some drivers are just reckless. This guy then yelled at this couple for crossing Palisade. Can we have more police presence here to calm these type of drivers please? Maybe blinking light signs here would help? Thank you.

63 Sherman Pl Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The HeightsThe intersection of Sherman Place and Summit is perilous for pedestrians because cars race between the traffic lights at Manhattan and Hutton Streets. Drivers rarely stop for us when trying to cross, even when holding the hands of our children. There was yet another accident on Saturday when a car driving from Manhattan Ave to Hutton hit a car that was trying to make a left onto Summit — which is never easy. We need this intersection to become a 3-way Stop. The city added signs to stop for pedestrians a couple of years ago but the cars knocked them over and they were removed. It’s dangerous and unfair. I’ve lived her for 18 years and it only gets worse.

225 Newark Ave Jersey City 07302, United States - DowntownWe need curb extensions at every intersection along our major commercial streets otherwise every crosswalk just ends up illegal parking.
-
13 Ravine Ave Jersey City, NJ 07307, USA - The HeightsPlease extend curbs on the south side of Ravine at New York. the crossing distance is very long and the turning radius is very wide.

112 Mcadoo Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07305, USA - GreenvilleThis is the retaining wall in my backyard ! This is just a part of the wall that's crumbling ! The road behind my house (Highview Road ) and my yard is right in front of 30 Highview Road which is now being repaved and I'm sure it's only going to make the wall crumble more !

Evertrust Plz & Montgomery St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
Today (3/11) morning at 8.30 am I was about to witness a tragedy. A group of school kids were were waiting to cross with their parents in front of 270 Marin Blvd, Jersey City, 07302. Shown with #1 in image. There is walk sign shown in #2, but car drivers never obey it. A little girl from the group ran forward to spot#3 in image and car came speeding from direction of #4 arrow and the girl almost hit the car. This is very dangerous crossing where a tragic accident is waiting to happen. Last month I witnessed a car accident at the same spot when a car exiting 270 Marin Blvd was hit by another car coming from direction of #4 arrow.
There is street parking very close to crossing as shown in #5 in image. People waiting for crossing at spot#1 can't see car without going dangerously close to spot#3 and car drivers can't see people and don't slow down to obey crossing sign. Please take care of the situation.
Some suggestions -
1. Remove parking spot shown in #5 in image so that there is more visibility
2. Install flashing walk sign much before spot #2 so that car drivers have time spot it and slow down
3. Paint signs on road or install speed hump -
Arlington Ave & Harmon St Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - Bergen-LafayetteCars do not stop at the crosswalk for pedestrians at the corner of Arlington Ave. and Harmon St. The stop sign is hidden and not visible.

Grand St & Van Vorst St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - DowntownThere are cars constantly parked blocking the pedestrian cross in Van Vorst St and Grand St this is a safety issue for all the kids that go to the schools in the area I understand from the crossing officer that this are cars owned by people that work in the firefighter house and that's the reasons enforcement doesn't take care of the issue If that is the case, it is unfortunate that they don't lead by example, and other measures should be take to protect the pedestrians at this corner

Christopher Columbus Dr & Jersey Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - DowntownFor driving south on Jersey Avenue at the Christopher Columbus Drive intersection, there is a desperate need for a left turn traffic light. There is a day care at 532 Jersey Avenue so there are a lot of parents dropping off their children on Jersey Avenue. And Jersey Avenue is a very busy road. When drivers are going south on Jersey Avenue and want to turn left on Christopher Columbus Drive there are too many cars going straight from the opposite direction (driving north on Jersey Avenue) so the drivers trying to turn left are stuck and usually have to try to force their way in. This is very dangerous and I have already seen numerous almost accidents. And, often times there are parents and children crossing Christopher Columbus Drive that almost get hit because the driver on Jersey Avenue trying to turn left is trying to rush to make it before the next car going straight reaches them. It is a very dangerous intersection and I think it needs a left turn signal.

Erie St & Pavonia Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
Hi - I am a longtime resident and mom living in Hamilton Park. I’d like to request that the corner of Erie and Pavonia (but really all corners around Cordero) receive the white parking towers that prevent people from parking in the crosswalks.
Two weeks ago after checking repeatedly, a woman who was parked very close to the crosswalk in the location attached hit me and my 6 week old son who was in his bassinet. Last week, I saw it happen again to someone else.
Both times happened after normal school hours, but during Casper after care. I believe installing the white parking towers would prevent possible tragedy by giving a buffer between parked cars and pedestrians. They’re in many other locations in our neighborhood and it seems that surrounding the school should be a priority.
That specific crosswalk does not even have pedestrian signage. Just the crosswalk.
Thank you.

92 Christopher Columbus Dr Jersey City 07302, United States - DowntownTurning right on Marin while going west on Christopher Columbus is a nightmare. The pedestrian crossing is on and there are traffic trying to get on Marin from both sides of Christopher Columbus. Either have a dedicated right turn signal or dedicated pedestrian crossing signal. There is ton of foot traffic and it’s unsafe for pedestrians and drivers.

207 Van Vorst St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - DowntownWhen the building permits for the Lenox and the Maddox were issued by the city (circa 2016), the neighbors in house nearby requested a traffic study on Van Vorst for the increased vehicles. It's now 2022 and no changes have been made to the flow of vehicle traffic on Van Vorst (between Sussex and Morris Street. There is currently parking on both side of the street and two-way traffic. There isn’t room for 4 cars on Van Vorst and it's worse when there are larger delivery and food trucks parked at the intersection. Cars frequently cannot turn onto the street and are forced to back up into traffic. Visibility turning onto Morris is poor which creates dangerous conditions for pedestrians. The street can support only three cars, so either it should be turned into a one-way street or parking eliminated from one side.
