  • Gardner Ave & Summit Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - McGinley Square
The intersection of Gardner and Summit continues to be a safety issue. There was just another fender bender today. People coming out of Gardner cannot clearly see traffic coming from the north. Something needs to be improved immediately.
  • 26-32 Newport Pkwy Jersey City, NJ, 07310, USA - The Waterfront
The city really needs to do a traffic safety study at this location The crosswalks on Newport Parkway just east of Washington boulevard are very dangerous Cars fly through here and do not stop for pedestrians in the cross walk It's been requested months ago, but the city hasn't done a thing Someone is going to get hurt or killed Let's address this issue
  • Academy St & Baldwin Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Journal Square
Hello, this intersection is extremely hectic during rush hour. Cars are consistently attempting to beat the short turning signals so it's difficult to cross the street without multiple cars honking horns for pedestrians to get out of the way. I'm reporting this intersection in an effort to prevent anyone from getting seriously hurt.
  • 9th St & Marin Blvd Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown

Hi! There's a new traffic pattern at 9th St. and Manila Ave. Tonight, walking across Manila on a GREEN pedestrian light, I noticed that traffic turning right onto Manilla from 9th Street ALSO has a green at the same time. Cars understandably seem a little peeved having to stop as I walk across, but we both have a green light.

It seems like there is potential for a car to continue through on the green without stopping and hitting a pedestrian who is crossing Manilla on their (simultaneous) green. Please see my image taken Feb 3rd to get an idea.

Since it's a revamped intersection, I figured it's worth flagging ASAP since it's not very safe. There is no obvious indication or flashing "yield to pedestrian" light here for cars who are driving legally through a green light. Thanks for checking this out.

  • 115–199 Marin Blvd Jersey City 07302, United States - Downtown
Hello. People speed down the road. I think you should add a stop sign. This is between 18 park and the vantage towards the water
  • Chestnut Ave & Pavonia Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal Square
This intersection is very dangerous for pedestrians. There are no walk signals. I just had to jump out of the way as I crossed when a car turned left into my body. This is right near an elementary school too. Please have a look at this neglected area.
  • 96 Storms Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - McGinley Square
I witnessed this grey SUV running over the "no parking" bollards to illegally park. I request a denser installation of bollards or a different more durable bollard at the intersection of Storms and Monticello.
  • 225 Newark Ave Jersey City 07302, United States - Downtown
We need curb extensions at every intersection along our major commercial streets otherwise every crosswalk just ends up illegal parking.
  • North St & Nelson Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The Heights

North St & Nelson Ave (Western Slope)
Is it possible if the traffic department can adopt "Leading Pedestrian Interval" due to school zone area?

A "Leading Pedestrian Interval", which allows pedestrians a head start of a few seconds to cross without any cars moving at all (all signals turn red at the same time).

  • Grand St & Van Vorst St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
Between Grand St and Sussex on Van Vorst should NOT be parking. Constantly blocking tight two-way street.
  • Sip Ave At Garrison Ave Jersey City, NJ 07306, USA - Journal Square

There are two crosswalks here, and Sip is a busy road. People are constantly speeding down the hill from JFK and almost hitting people in the crosswalk

Is there any sort of traffic calming that can be added here?

  • Erie St & Pavonia Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown

Hi - I am a longtime resident and mom living in Hamilton Park. I’d like to request that the corner of Erie and Pavonia (but really all corners around Cordero) receive the white parking towers that prevent people from parking in the crosswalks.

Two weeks ago after checking repeatedly, a woman who was parked very close to the crosswalk in the location attached hit me and my 6 week old son who was in his bassinet. Last week, I saw it happen again to someone else.

Both times happened after normal school hours, but during Casper after care. I believe installing the white parking towers would prevent possible tragedy by giving a buffer between parked cars and pedestrians. They’re in many other locations in our neighborhood and it seems that surrounding the school should be a priority.

That specific crosswalk does not even have pedestrian signage. Just the crosswalk.

    Thank you.
