Old Bergen Rd At Winfield Ave Jersey City, NJ 07305, USA - GreenvilleThe intersection of Winfield and Old Bergen Rd. desperately needs stop signs, a traffic signal, or a speed bump. Cars speed dangerously down Old Bergen Rd at all hours as the entire stretch from Merritt St to Bartholdi has no traffic signals, stop signs, speed bumps, etc. The Winfield intersection is particularly vulnerable as residents, including children and those with pets, trying to cross into or out of Columbia Park face very dangerous conditions. These conditions also include cars turning left on to Old Bergen Rd. from Bartholdi when those cars catch the green light. Knowing there's no stop sign or speed bump there, cars turn left on to Old Bergen Rd at or above the speed limit with low visibility. if you're a pedestrian crossing Old Bergen Rd those left-turning cars are an additional hazard that are not visible and can't be anticipated.

Traffic Signal MaintenanceKinilalaPavonia Ave & Summit Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal Square
This is a 5-way intersection where Central Ave. originates at Pavonia and Summit.
This intersection does NOT have accessible pedestrian signal (APS) pushbuttons for the visually impaired.
The 10 existing pushbuttons do NOT control the 10 pedestrian walk signals. Those are on "pedestrian recall" and operate during every traffic cycle.
There are 5 audible signals at the intersection, of which only 2 work. They are on the bottom of pedestrian signals and look like black hockey pucks. The two working signals are on the NORTHWEST and SOUTHEAST corners.
During the WALK phase for crossing Summit and Central, a voice says "Walk sign is on to cross" about 3 times and then stops. There is no audible voice for the countdown during the DON'T WALK phase. There is no audible voice for crossing Pavonia.
These outdated audible signals and the non-working old pushbuttons should be REPLACED with modern APS pushbuttons like those at:

Pedestrian Safety RequestKinilalaBramhall Ave & Garfield Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - Bergen-LafayetteThis food truck is on this corner almost every day and although it's parked legally, because of the size of the truck, it obstructs pedestrians from drivers before the crosswalk. This is already a very dangerous crosswalk that we citizens have attempted to bring attention to but we've been told the city is waiting until something tragic happens to change it The poles need to be moved back so that the truck moves back, right now it's making a very dangerous crosswalk even more dangerous.

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestKinilalaSip Ave At Garrison Ave Jersey City, NJ 07306, USA - Journal Square
There are two crosswalks here, and Sip is a busy road. People are constantly speeding down the hill from JFK and almost hitting people in the crosswalk
Is there any sort of traffic calming that can be added here?

Pedestrian Safety RequestKinilalaMonmouth St & Newark Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
Exclusive pedestrian signal needed at the west crosswalk for crossing Newark at Monmouth.
Pedestrians should have an exclusive green walking signal, even if it is for 10-15 seconds, and cars turning left from Monmouth onto Newark should have a RED during that time.
This is a low budget, immediately actionable solution to a problem which could lead to potential deaths if not acted upon soon. The cars turning left from Monmouth to Newark turn at dangerous speeds and are endless.
This is the 7th request for this dangerous intersection, but do not mark it as a duplicate as this is specifically requesting an exclusive pedestrian signal timing.
Happy to answer further questions.

Is it possible if the traffic department can adopt "Leading Pedestrian Interval" due to school zone area?A "Leading Pedestrian Interval", which allows pedestrians a head start of a few seconds to cross without any cars moving at all (all signals turn red at the same time).

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestKinilalaHutton St & Summit Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The HeightsCars regularly blow through solid red lights at the intersection of Summit and Hutton. Case in point, I was almost was hit when a white sedan ignored the red light as I was crossing Summit. This happens at least once a day on my commute. Can you please do a study or put up a ticketing light to deter negligent drivers? Thank you.
