  • 12 Park St Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - McGinley Square
Hello, would it be possible to get a parking study of Park Street? It is increasingly difficult for local residents to park there, and non-residents seem to leave their cars there for extended stretches.
  • 3rd St & Jersey Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown

Private individuals, especially UPS trucks, have decided it's OK to crush these delineators by parking on top of them. This has been reported many times to parking enforcement, with no ticketing follow through. This is destruction of city infrastructure by entitled jerks, and negates the point of the city project of installing this infrastructure for the safety of residents in a town where drivers routinely drive and behave dangerously.

Please reinstall them, and use more substantial delineators that can't be crushed by parking on top of them. Thank you.

  • 39 New York Ave Jersey City 07307, United States - The Heights
There was an accident a few weeks ago and the guardrail is bended towards the sidewalk. This is a hazard for pedestrians walking the narrow path left
  • Central Ave & Newark Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal Square
Cars always pull up too far (and park in front of) the crosswalk to cross Newark Ave on Central. It’s obviously because there are no markings on the road, so it’s never possible to actually use the curb cut with a stroller, wheelchair or other mobility assistance device. This has been like this for at least a year now. Please paint a proper crosswalk and/or stopping line for cars…
  • Marin Blvd & Montgomery St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
Car is parked at the no parking area meant to be a vision zero space for cars to see pedestrians. Please add roadway delineators so that cars can’t park there and pedestrians can cross safely.
  • Hobson St & Palisade Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The Heights
A moving truck is currently parked over the corner delineators, flattening them. They have been reported to parking enforcement, but the delineators will need to be repaired (parking enforcement says they don't handle that)
  • Greene St & Sussex St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - The Waterfront

Westbound traffic on Sussex Street ( Greene intersection ) routinely ignores or doesn’t see the RIGHT TURN ONLY signage painted on the road, and continues through the intersection.
Exacerbated by parked traffic just before the intersection, which partially blocks the signage- see truck in photo.

I have witnessed this for several years as we live on this corner. My wife works from home and sees this happen hundreds of times a day.

This is a safety concern as they often drive quickly.

Perhaps the traffic light could be changed to a right turn only arrow.
    The signage could be better.
Parking could be restricted so the painted signage is not obscured.

    Thank you

  • Congress St & Paterson Plank Rd Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The Heights
With all the 119 long buses on the road - it is a regular occurrence for them to not quite make this turn and for whatever car that is heading downhil on Congress to have to find a way to move so that the bus can complete its turn
Could there be a new line drawn further back on Congress to allow these buses to have their wider swing up onto Congress?l
  • Crawford St & Orchard St Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - McGinley Square
this corner coming out from Crawford/orchard Street is very blind. Recommend installing a curved mirror for traffic pulling out, and maybe some snek downs to encourage summit traffic to slow down.
  • 342-352 Jersey Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
There is a no-stop zone here at the intersection that is almost impossible to see for drivers at night and in inclement weather. There should be signage warning drivers of the rail train tracks before the no-stop zone leading up to the tracks that can be seen at night and guard rails between traffic and the rail tracks that are also visible at night. Anything to improve visibility will increase safety measures in this area. measures, especially during heavy rain, sleet, and snow.
  • 100 Montgomery St Jersey City, NJ 07302, USA - The Waterfront

Please send someone to paint and clearly mark the handicapped parking space located at 100 Montgomery St. The handicap sign is posted directly next to the bus stop sign, but the pavement markings underneath only say “BUS STOP” with no painted outlines for the handicapped parking spot. Because of this, the signage and the roadway markings contradict each other.

For the past couple of years, residents have parked there without issues, and previous tickets were dismissed in court because the handicap sign allows parking in that space. Recently, a new parking enforcement employee issued a ticket even though the area is not properly marked. This seems to happen when new or inexperienced officers are assigned to this area and do not understand the layout.

To prevent ongoing confusion, unnecessary tickets, and repeated court appearances, please repaint and clearly outline the handicapped parking space so it matches the posted sign. The bus stop area is oversized, and buses do not pull into the curb—they simply stop in the roadway—so properly marking the handicapped spot will not interfere with bus operations.

    Thank you.
