Pedestrian Safety RequestĐược thừa nhậnArlington Ave & Grand St Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - Bergen-LafayetteThis is a large cross street with no traffic lights or pedestrian crossing light Cars will often speed through stop signs, even with schools and a park in the area, putting pedestrians in danger The city has been made aware of this before and I hope something is done before something horrible happens

Traffic/Pedestrian Safety Study RequestsĐược thừa nhậnCentral Ave & Hopkins Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - The HeightsDuring an afternoon walk, I witnessed the aftermath of a terrible accident that occurred on the corner of Central and Hopkins Avenue. Where you see the orange in the picture is where the victim was on the ground badly hurt. Her lower left leg had been sheared to the bone from the ankle up to the knee on the inside. It was horrible and she lost so much blood. I hope she is ok. I think she was taken to Jersey City Medical.
In the meantime, I have to tell you that this intersection is very unsafe. There is a school across the street and usually a school crossing guard. It needs a TRAFFIC LIGHT. Please do something. I don't know that a traffic light would have helped this woman, but I don't know that it wouldn't have either. This is a terrible situation. -
Pedestrian Safety RequestĐược thừa nhậnLiberty Ave & Saint Pauls Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal SquareCars never stop at this four-way stop sign intersection. Cars roll by, and there is no enforcement of this, even when a pedestrian is nearby in the crosswalk. Please enforce the stop signs!

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestĐược thừa nhậnAbbett St & Booraem Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The HeightsOn intersection of Abbett and Booraem, there’s not enough streetlight and there’s no stop sign. With the parked cars on both sides on the street on Booraem, cars can’t see when someone is trying cross from Booraem to Abbett or vice versa. Can you please look into this and place lighting and a stop sign here?

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestĐược thừa nhậnColes St & Newark Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - DowntownThe corner here is incredible dangerous for pedestrians crossing. Cars heading east on Newark make aggressive right turns and I have almost been hit multiple times now.

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestĐược thừa nhậnHill Ave & Pavonia Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal SquareToday a car almost hit my husband in the corner of Newark and Pavonia. They driver was texting and he didn't Stop ( there is a Stop sign). Please add a Traffic light here or one of those small lights you have all over Newark. This is very dangerous, and hundreds of people cross this street everyday

Pedestrian Safety RequestĐược thừa nhậnBramhall Ave & Garfield Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - Bergen-Lafayettefor the second time this week, cars ignored the pedestrian yield sign and I was almost hit. please do something before a child or pregnant woman such as myself die at this intersection.

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestĐược thừa nhận68-80 Sip Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal SquareThere is a signalized intersection on Sip Avenue at the access road to the Journal Square Bus Station. The crosswalk at the western side of the intersection across Sip Avenue is missing. In addition, there is a temporary ramp up to the curb made of asphalt, but it is frequently blocked by parked vehicles. This is one of the main areas of pedestrian access to the bus terminal, and is busy with pedestrian traffic. As a crosswalk is missing and pedestrians frequently need to enter the street around parked cars, it feels very unsafe crossing here, like an accident waiting to happen. At a minimum, the crosswalk should be repainted, and the curb access should be restricted so that cars do not park blocking the crosswalk and ramp.

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestĐược thừa nhận9th St & Marin Blvd Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
Hi! There's a new traffic pattern at 9th St. and Manila Ave. Tonight, walking across Manila on a GREEN pedestrian light, I noticed that traffic turning right onto Manilla from 9th Street ALSO has a green at the same time. Cars understandably seem a little peeved having to stop as I walk across, but we both have a green light.
It seems like there is potential for a car to continue through on the green without stopping and hitting a pedestrian who is crossing Manilla on their (simultaneous) green. Please see my image taken Feb 3rd to get an idea.
Since it's a revamped intersection, I figured it's worth flagging ASAP since it's not very safe. There is no obvious indication or flashing "yield to pedestrian" light here for cars who are driving legally through a green light. Thanks for checking this out.

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestĐược thừa nhậnMagnolia Ave & Summit Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal SquarePeople continue to park in the limited pedestrian areas along the JSQ buildings forcing people to weave between idling trucks/cars or walk into traffic. This issue has been raised multiple times. Enough is enough -- there are so many actual parking lots in the area so there is no reason for this egregious behavior. The city needs to hold these drivers or the developers accountable.

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestĐược thừa nhậnBowers St & Summit Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The HeightsI have been almost hit by two different vehicles (and then verbally assaulted by the drivers) while walking along summit and crossing bowers with a walk signal (east side of the intersection). The drivers clearly believe they have the right of way at this intersection despite the walk signal. Can you install a Yield to Pedestrians sign or make the pedestrian right of way more obvious?

Pedestrian Safety RequestĐược thừa nhậnJersey Ave & York St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - DowntownThis continues to be a serious problem. There is not a day that goes by where cars roll through or blatantly disregard the stop sign in both directions in an effort to make lights. I myself have nearly been hit many times, and my neighbor was nearly the latest casualty today--had he not jumped out of the way, he would have been hit. This is an active pedestrian (and child-focused) area given the park on the opposite side of the street, as well as numerous schools and day cares in the area. Someone will inevitably be hit if more is not done to beef up pedestrian safety on Jersey Ave (ie more lighted pedestrian walkways with crossing buttons/flashing lights in all 4 directions).
