Pedestrian Safety RequestĐược thừa nhậnMonmouth St & Newark Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
Exclusive pedestrian signal needed at the west crosswalk for crossing Newark at Monmouth.
Pedestrians should have an exclusive green walking signal, even if it is for 10-15 seconds, and cars turning left from Monmouth onto Newark should have a RED during that time.
This is a low budget, immediately actionable solution to a problem which could lead to potential deaths if not acted upon soon. The cars turning left from Monmouth to Newark turn at dangerous speeds and are endless.
This is the 7th request for this dangerous intersection, but do not mark it as a duplicate as this is specifically requesting an exclusive pedestrian signal timing.
Happy to answer further questions.

Pedestrian Safety RequestĐược thừa nhậnBergen Ave & Fairmount Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - McGinley SquareThis intersection is very dangerous for pedestrians. Constant illegal parking, including in crosswalks, reduces visibility and drivers frequently run red lights. Misaligned nature of the intersection means drivers often get stuck in intersection on red and speed through crosswalks. Drivers turning from the one-way section of Fairmount in particular cannot see pedestrians well nor can pedestrians see them well.

Pedestrian Safety RequestĐược thừa nhậnBramhall Ave & Garfield Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - Bergen-LafayetteThis food truck is on this corner almost every day and although it's parked legally, because of the size of the truck, it obstructs pedestrians from drivers before the crosswalk. This is already a very dangerous crosswalk that we citizens have attempted to bring attention to but we've been told the city is waiting until something tragic happens to change it The poles need to be moved back so that the truck moves back, right now it's making a very dangerous crosswalk even more dangerous.

Pedestrian Safety RequestĐược thừa nhậnBowers St & Palisade Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The Heights
I’m writing as a pedestrian concerned about the safety at the intersection of Palisade Avenue and Bowers Street in Jersey City.
This morning, I experienced a close call where a car turning on green nearly hit me while I was crossing legally with the “Walk” signal.
I’ve observed that this intersection does not currently have a Leading Pedestrian Interval (LPI), and cars often turn without yielding to pedestrians.
I respectfully request that the city consider adding an LPI phase to improve safety at this crossing.
Thank you for your attention and efforts to make Jersey City safer for all road users.
Best regards,
Concerned resident -
