21-25 Franklin St Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The HeightsCan something be implemented or installed at the top of the hill to stop mopeds and e-bikes constantly going down this hill.
Barriers would be great. -
9th St & Manila Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - DowntownWe need traffic lights here, with an exclusive pedestrian green light. I pass through this intersection on a daily basis both as a pedestrian and as a driver - it is scary! Coming from 9th St onto Manila Ave, the visibility is limited for drivers and there are 3 pedestrian crosswalks to keep track of. There are several schools in the immediate vicinity: Cordero, Scandi, HPMS.

Griffith St & Palisade Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The HeightsDangerous intersection - could we implement a stop sign?

2nd St & Warren St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - DowntownCars run this stop sign all the time. There are plenty of parents with children and strollers who walk to daycare and the cars just do not stop. Every intersection in this area is unsafe (warren and 2nd, warren and 1st, warren and bay, warren and Morgan). Cars tend to even speed up to go through the stop sign if they are you are walking towards the intersection and think they will have to stop for you.

Palisade Ave & South St Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The Heights
This is a request for adding a leading pedestrian interval (LPI) on the intersection of palisades and south in all directions. I cross this street with my daughter in a stroller multiple times a day. I've seen many close calls with cars rushing to make turns onto palisades when the light turns green.
While last year, the walk signals were changed to illuminate along with the car signals (as opposed to having to press the button), cars still try to turn on green into the crosswalk before pedestrians start crossing. Having 3-6 seconds of time where only the walk signal is illuminated before cars have a green will allow pedestrians to start crossing safely and force cars to wait, creating a safer intersection for all of us.
Thank you!

135 New York Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The Heights
Is it possible for the city to completely ban huge trucks to pass in this area? First, the streets are narrow and no such truck should be allowed in this residential areas.
Second, the trucks make a lot of noise when hitting the speed humps because they dont even stop and just fly over them.
Third, these huge trucks create a lot of traffic. Last week, one of them was stuck because it could not make the turn due to narrow streets. It is the city's duty to put the appropriate signs so the drivers of these trucks are aware before even entering an area.
It is imperative that the city makes the life of its citizens SAFE and STRESSLESS.

50-98 New York Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The HeightsCars are frequently parked on the sidewalk, completely obstructing the path. At the curve where the sidewalk narrows, this forces pedestrians into the street day after day. Today, while pushing a stroller with a baby, we had to wait for traffic to clear, and the driver who had parked on the sidewalk became aggressive when we politely asked them not to block the path. I understand that there is a site entrance there, but this is one of the few accesses from downtown to the Heights. Can a removable barrier be placed?

Bowers St & Palisade Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The Heights
I’m writing as a pedestrian concerned about the safety at the intersection of Palisade Avenue and Bowers Street in Jersey City.
This morning, I experienced a close call where a car turning on green nearly hit me while I was crossing legally with the “Walk” signal.
I’ve observed that this intersection does not currently have a Leading Pedestrian Interval (LPI), and cars often turn without yielding to pedestrians.
I respectfully request that the city consider adding an LPI phase to improve safety at this crossing.
Thank you for your attention and efforts to make Jersey City safer for all road users.
Best regards,
Concerned resident
