  • 2nd St & Warren St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
Cars make right turns off of Warren going the wrong way on one way 2nd street to cut through the shopping center parking lot. This lot is used by a lot of parents with kids and strollers for the Brunswick school.
  • 164 Mcadoo Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07305, USA - Greenville
Resident is requesting that this street be made one way since cars speed down this road and they keep entering even though after 164 McAdoo Street it is one way they do not stop.
  • Hopkins Ave & Palisade Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - The Heights
post has been destroyed by drivers, please replace
  • Congress St & Webster Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The Heights
The stretch from Webster to Central on Congress St has no stop signs As a result, many drivers speed up Congress St (past a day care, and past crossings that access two schools and a major park) We need to control traffic on Congress St and make it safer for residents There are also crashes at these intersections frequently because it's difficult to see oncoming traffic if you need to cross Cambridge, Sherman or Hancock
  • Town Square Pl & Washington Blvd Jersey City, NJ, 07310, USA - The Waterfront
This intersection is especially dangerous in both directions for multiple reasons. We've come dangerously close to hitting pedestrians and being sideswiped by other drivers on numerous occasions. The pedestrian crossing from the mall to the PATH is on a diagonal, meaning that pedestrians cross along a very long area but with little respite in the median due to the large exhaust tower and tall grasses in the way; they're often walking along the curb or running out quickly in front of drivers since they have nowhere else to go. What's more is that there are cars stopping suddenly on both sides of the street to pickup/drop off passengers. Finally, the exhaust tower and grasses are super dangerous for driver sight lines when driving south, and for pedestrians attempting to cross from the median toward the mall. I go through this intersection very slowly and still have to frequently slam on my brakes or veer quickly into the other lane.

Franklin St & Hancock Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The Heights
Multiple cars are parked in the crosswalk or in the no parking area of said address making it difficult to see crossing pedestrians. Can they possible install the traffic sticks so no one parks there to obstruct the view
  • Johnston Ave & Pine St Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - Bergen-Lafayette

The intersection of Pine and Johnston is extremely dangerous: limited sight distance, cars racing to making lights, excessive traffic from the bridge closing, poor crossing marking. This intersection would benefit greatly from simple changes like crossing lights to warn drivers of crossing, better markings, and a speed bump on Pine. However in the long-term, JC should consider a slow streets design the changes the street from a straight un-obstructed street to a street with intentional obstructions to slow traffic at intersections (e.g., circular planter in the middle of the intersection).

As this neighborhood grows, so will pedestrian traffic and JC needs be proactive about pedestrian safety.

This is also a major bike route for local residents, and desperately needs protected bike lanes.

  • 1st St & Jersey Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
This intersection is extremely dangerous, with very few cars stopping for the stop signs There are many pedestrians in the area, and children's nurseries on two corners Please either start enforcing these stops signs or find ways to make the intersection safer
  • Jefferson Ave & Palisade Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - The Heights
Corner of Palisade Ave and Jefferson Ave is busy. Drivers don’t stop for pedestrians at cross-walk. Can we get a blinking pedestrian crossing sign?
  • 3rd St & Brunswick St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
All of the corners at this intersection were redone but with no safety improvements. Loading zones and curb extensions are needed to protect the pedestrian right of way. Also note that this is a school corner (PS5) at pickup time.
  • 350 Warren St Jersey City 07302, United States - Downtown

No stop sign at intersection of Bay and Warren. Cars park on top of cross walks and it’s impossible to see oncoming traffic when crossing warren in car or on foot. Requesting a stop stop sign on warren and bay to protect pedestrians and drivers.

It looks like there used to be a stop sign on warren, but only the pole is left.

It’s so bad I’ve been hit by a bike here. Would like to avoid getting hit by a car.

    Thanks!

  • Baldwin Ave & Hopkins Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - The Heights
Baldwin Ave at Hopkins Ave sees near constant parking in the crosswalk and on sidewalks. We need curb extensions and bollards to keep drivers from blocking pedestrian right of way and sightlines.
