  • 333 Grand St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
With the recent explosion of traffic on Jersey Ave due to the direct link to Liberty State Park, the intersection at Jersey Av and Grand St has turned into a nightmare. There need to be dedicated green lights for turning left as well as dedicated safe crossing time for pedestrians instead of having to negotiate with frustrated drivers turning left. Big safety issue and very disappointing that the city did not address this before opening the floodgates.
  • 272 Hoboken Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - The Heights
Hoboken ave is more dangerous now with bike lane, cars now think its a two lane street and drive on the bike lane, faster than posted speed limit. Cars try to drive me off the road almost every day. I've been biking in jc my whole life, never fearfull of dieing until now

Grand St & Washington St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - The Waterfront
My children are bussed from PS 16 to Danforth. I am becoming increasingly concerned with the lack of a safe area for the numerous buses to pull over on Grand and Washington. Every morning and afternoon the buses gridlock the street, and create major traffic because there is not adequate parking for the 6 plus buses that are needed to facilitate getting these spillover children to their Danforth school. Children are forced to walk into the street to get to their double parked buses- it's an accident waiting to happen. How do we go about removing residential street parking on Washington Street from Grand to Sussex to help with this issue? If you stop allowing residents to park on Washington in front os PS 16, it will greatly expedite the bus situation and make things MUCH safer for pedestrians and drivers in that area.
  • 145 Nelson Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The Heights

I am asking for Stop Signs on Nelson Avenue at Locations of Hague Street, Leonard, Graham, and others to improve street crosswalk for pedestrians. It's a safety hazard for people to cross on Nelson Avenue at Leonard Street, Graham, and others due to cars driving by. Pedestrians usually have to wait a long time before they can cross and it's still a safety issue.

Maybe Stop Signs are needed at these crosswalk locations on Nelson Avenue. Also keep in mind that Public School 27 is few blocks away so having these Stop Signs on Nelson will help crosswalk safety for pedestrians for all people especially school children. The City Inspector needs to determine whether STOP Signs are needed at the locations, Speed Humps, or traffic lights. Thank you!

  • 18th St & Marin Blvd Jersey City, NJ, 07310, USA - Downtown
The corner of 18th and Marin is extremely dangerous for pedestrians with drivers rushing to get into Hoboken. While there is a green arrow for drivers going south and turning east, there is none for those going east and turning north, and those drivers blow through the red light to beat the westbound traffic.
  • 362 Hoboken Ave Jersey City, NJ 07306, USA - Journal Square

This is the SW corner of Baldwin Ave and 139 Upper Level.

As shown in the first photo, the turning radius here is approximately 50 feet. NJDOT guidelines (see second photo) indicate that 15 feet is sufficient for vehicles and anything larger increases risk to pedestrians.

50 feet is far too wide for an area with heavy pedestrian usage. This road must be redesigned.

  • 375 Baldwin Ave Jersey City, NJ 07306, USA - The Heights
This sign went up last week. It is ridiculous to remove a crosswalk from an intersection that has tons of pedestrian traffic. Please remove this sign and pain the crosswalk to be more visible.

30 Regent St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown

I live at 30 Regent Street, Jersey City, NJ 07302 and pay to park in the garage located there. Because I suffer from complicated & potentially life-threatening health issues, I am physically disabled and unable to walk the 1/4 mile from my residence to the Liberty Harbor ferry. I have permanent Handicapped License Plates to ensure that I am not forced to try to ambulate distances.

Since I am still gainfully employed in New York City, I commute via the Liberty Harbor NY Waterways Ferry to Pier 11. Unfortunately, there were NO Handicapped Spaces in the Marina Parking Lot even though I had already paid to park there for the day. My Physicians (multiple specialists) restrict me from walking distances or attempting to stand from prolonged time frames; thus, I was left without handicapped accessible parking options when I arrived at the Liberty Harbor Marina to take the 9:30am Ferry to Pier 11. In order to ensure I made the 9:30am ferry to Pier 11, the RV Park allowed me to park in a space about 5 spaces removed from their office; however, they advised that I would only be able to park there for today.

Please advise what the contingency plans are in place for handicapped residents when the Marine Marina Ferry Parking Lot runs out of handicapped accessible spaces. I was advised by the clerk in the RV Park that the limited amount of disabled persons parking was assessed as sufficient by Regulators even though they were clearly unable to accommodate my needs for 02/12/2020.

  • 168 Van Horne St Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - Bergen-Lafayette

  • 380 Newark Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
crosswalk is in serious disrepair. See SCF case 9804986 for the picture. delineators are also down
  • 689 Marin Blvd Jersey City, NJ, 07310, USA - Downtown
Both my wife and I and almost every resident of zephyr lofts and 700 grove street have been hit by cars turning onto Marin Blvd from Observer highway. We always wait for the walk signal but drivers turning from the far side of observer highway are always speeding to make that turn before the traffic from the other side has the right of way. I'm not overstating the fact that someone is going to get knocked down or worse killed by the actions of these drivers.
  • 443 Ogden Ave Jersey City 07307, United States - The Heights
Something like 30-50 / hr buses try to squeeze through the block of Congress between Paterson Plank and Palisade—plus hundreds of vehicles and pedestrians. The onstreet parking of 20 cars should be banned during the morning rush. It makes difficult for buses to turn and reduces visibility of pedestrians at crosswalks. This would be a minor inconvenience for 20 people easing travel for thousands.
