This CitiBike driver thought that it would be OK for him to drive over the parking bollards that protect pedestrians at the corner and park there while he played with his cellphone.

Considering that our tax dollars have to pay for these to be replaced, it's appropriate that CitiBike should pay for that.

  • Belmont Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - Lincoln Park
Bus stop in middle of light at JFK and Belmont is incredibly dangerous. The buses drive through the red light when pedestrians have the right of way because that can’t see they have a red light. And generally have an attitude about it even though they are running a red light! I was almost just hit. This is dangerous and should be changed immediately.
  • 268 Palisade Ave Jersey City, NJ 07307, USA - The Heights
Cars park too close to corner. Bumpout Needed
  • 194 Wayne St Jersey City NJ 07302, United States - Downtown
Wayne Street between Monmouth Street and Brunswick Street is considered an Access Easement, but drivers frequently use it as a shortcut to skip the traffic light at Monmouth and Columbus Drive or a shortcut from Brunswick to Monmouth to avoid the traffic light at Montgomery Street. Drivers frequently race down this narrow access easement at high speeds. Previous signage indicating the status of Wayne Street is old and illegible at this point. Please consider posting new signage of the status of Wayne St., multiple speed bumps / humps, a reduced speed limit of 10 or 15mph, and additional enforcement.

525 Washington Blvd Jersey City NJ 07310, United States - The Waterfront
These car service vehicles keep parking in the bike lane. They sit here unattended for quite a while. The bikes have to swerve into traffic to get around them. Very unsafe.

Knucklehead drivers or deliverers knocked these down.
  • King Taxi 43 Oakland Ave, Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal Square
ATTN: Jersey City Division of Planning / Traffic / Engineering. Please consider this entire area a "hot spot" for pedestrian/motorist conflict. Between Oakland Ave and Central Ave you have two major pedestrian thoroughfares that connect with the Journal Square area. Thousands of people are forced to traverse this area on foot every day. However, the existing ped infrastructure is wholly inadequate: crosswalks are fading or nonexistent, cars routinely speed down Hoboken Avenue making it very dangerous to cross, and the lighting at night is extremely poor.

2595 John F Kennedy Blvd Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - West Side
Corner of sidewalk at fairmount Ave and Kennedy Blvd - unfinished concrete sidewalk. Trip hazard for pedestrians
  • 184 Morgan St Jersey City, NJ 07302, USA - Downtown

Traffic on Columbus and Marin is a headache and a hazard during rush hour and now with all the construction on Marin its becoming a nightmare.

    Have you thought about
    1. directing cars coming onto Morgan street between Marin and Newark to Newark Avenue
    2. directing cars coming onto Morgan street between Marin and Warren to Warren Street.
    3. By doing this you can remove the light on Marin/Morgan which will eliminate the backup on Columbus

    just a thought

  • Rafael De J Cordero School 158 Erie St, Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown

Hi - I am a longtime resident and mom living in Hamilton Park. I’d like to request that the corner of Erie and Pavonia (but really all corners around Cordero) receive the white parking towers that prevent people from parking in the crosswalks.

Two weeks ago after checking repeatedly, a woman who was parked very close to the crosswalk in the location attached hit me and my 6 week old son who was in his bassinet. Last week, I saw it happen again to someone else.

Both times happened after normal school hours, but during Casper after care. I believe installing the white parking towers would prevent possible tragedy by giving a buffer between parked cars and pedestrians. They’re in many other locations in our neighborhood and it seems that surrounding the school should be a priority.

That specific crosswalk does not even have pedestrian signage. Just the crosswalk.

    Thank you.

  • 273–289 Johnston Ave Jersey City 07304, United States - Bergen-Lafayette
Visibility issue at the corner of Garabrant St. & Johnston Ave. The very large construction trucks/vans make it impossible to see incoming traffic.
